I think there might be a swap in possies involving Pendlebury and Thompson after tonight. Thompson worked hard but was hardly effective. Pendlebury was all class.

Hmm.

Round 1 - 5
Round 2 - 8
Round 3 - 8
Round 4 - 6
Round 5 - 9
Round 6 - 5
Round 7 - 9
Round 8 - 6
Round 9 - 9

May not be the pick for a lot of people because he doesn't get that many stats. Averaging 19 disposals a game but I think anyone who wouldn't want him in their team is stupid.

My rankings for the Adelaide v Collingwood game;
10 - Beams
9 - Sidebottom, Rutten
8 - Pendlebury, Reilly
7 - Shaw
6 - Thompson
5 - Dangerfield
4 - Sloane, Jacobs
0 - Cloke
Does this align with other people's views on the game?

Pretty spot on. I would give Cloke more than a zero though. Although poor, zero is just too low.

Geez, Beams and Sidebottom were awesome.

I'll bite and throw my rankings in for today's match. Factoring noteworthy performances plus anyone who is "contending" for the rankings:

9 - Armitage
8 - Hayes, Steven, Simpkin
7 - Ray, Blake, Milne, Riewoldt, Goddard
6 - Dal Santo, Montagna, Gwilt, Saad, Jones
5 - Cripps
4 - Milera
3 - Koschitzke, Gram
0 - Walsh :D

Siposs is hard to rank. He was great whenever he had it, but he didn't have much of it.

What were the stats for Kennedy? Didn't even notice him... what's his number?

I'd give him an 8 against Collingwood, and a 6 against us.

Haven't seen that much of Carlton this year, though.

Kennedy was again one of the better performers in an ordinary side. As always, depends on how those around him played, but I'd imagine he'd drop 1 or 2 spots. Still hanging on to a top 5 spot though imo.

Richards struggled a bit in the 1st half (was around our 6th/7th best). Jetta struggled. Parker struggled. Jack was our best and should climb. Overall nothing special at all.

1. Kennedy (top 5ish
2. Richards (late 20's)
3. Jack (mid 30's)
4. Jetta (late 30's)
--------------------------
Unlucky: Parker

Drops away after that imo. Hanners, O'Keefe probably the next two but I wouldn't say they are unlucky.

1. Scott Pendlebury
2. Scott Thompson
3. Jobe Watson
4. Josh Kennedy
5. Brent Stanton
6. Brett Deledio
7. Steele Sidebottom
8. Scott Selwood
9. Lenny Hayes
10. Trent Cotchin
11. Patrick Dangerfield
12. Joel Selwood
13. Gary Ablett
14. Ryan Griffen

I'd have something like that, pending Selwood's game. Very rough though, as I don't watch enough games now. Getting a feeling we have Ablett too high?

Looks OK AG. Nothing major to disagree with there. It really is a year for mids isn't it?
On our front Beams would be rising. Since round 5 he has averaged about 32 touches a game. Has been huge for us.

When discussing Ablett, what do you mean by high?
High - as in should be in the top ten? Or the other way?

The top 14 looks pretty good for mind.
Depending on Scooter's game he could fluctuate between 6th - 10th.
Others to watch today:
Judd - big game will see him jump to the low twenties (even though it is against Melbourne)
Cox/Naitanui/Sandilands - this battle will be very important for ranking these three ruckman. Naitanui could drop back in to the fifty with a dominant game or Cox and Sandilands could take the no. 1 ruck position in the fifty (probably somewhere 25ish-35ish).
Rockliff - if he has a big game then I have no reason to keep him out of the top 15 (may even consider 11th considering I believe he has been slightly more consistent than Dangerfield).
Swallow - depending on his game he could be in the teens as well.
Henderson - I'm hoping he is matched up on Clark just because that would be significantly easier for my rankings. If he's up forward then it will be more difficult.
Regardless I now rank Rance as the best backman to date.
How did Taylor play on Friday night?

This week I will be moving some players into the 50:
- Ben Howlett
- Brent Reilly
- Shane Tuck
Others will be moving close to the 50:
- Heath Shaw
- Brendan Whitecross

Playings I will drop from their positions include:
- Lance Franklin
- Brad Sewell
- Jordan Lewis
- Dane Swan
- Sam Mitchell
- Marc Murphy

Even if he misses, he's still AA CHB for mine.

B: ???? - Rance - Richards
HB: ????? - Henderson - ????

Those three are the standouts imo.

ep, in regards to Ablett, I mean do we have him too high on the list? I haven't watched much of GC lately but I haven't read or heard anything about him playing well. Combined with a few games missed and maybe he should be late teens?

My understanding is that Kane Cornes worked him over pretty well (which means the umps will still give him 2-3 votes).
I'd be inclined to agree. His last two games suggest that he is still coming back from injury.
At the moment I have him:
59/70

I was gonna go (Pies players only)

9- Beams
8- Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Thomas
7- Shaw
2- Cloke

So yeah, I reckon you've gotten it pretty close. A 0 is too harsh though imo.
On the other hand, i thinks 10's should be reserved for the truly outstanding games (e.g Ablett earlier this year).

Like I said previously I don't want to make 10s extremely rare.
I award a 10 to a BOG in 50% of games. I think Beams qualifies under this ranking system.
Instead I give an extra point for the truly outstanding games.
I give these in about 2.5% of games (that is, in about 10 games this year I will award an extra point to a crazy-dominant player).
