If they are offloading him due to salary cap problems we could possible get him for a late round draft pick

If Smart or Bickley retire we could put other players on the veterans list which would give us some salary cap room

Torney could then replace the midfielder we have to give up for Carey.

we should go for Torney IMHO - but i think smarty & bicks wont retire

btw - Blake Caracella might be coming to S.A. - he'd be good too

Caracella would be my preference over Torney. However, with us trading for Carey, we need to make sure we don't trade too many players & we don't wamt to upset the core fabric of the team, which still has plenty of improvement - particularly with the King next year!

Caracella!! no way Kane, even though he has played well against us a few times in the past in my opinion he is not the type of player we should be looking for, where as Torney is the perfect replacement for Bicks if or when he retires,

Torney would be good value - 4th round pick for a ready-made AFL defender with experience. I'm happy with that.
