Tonight we see the only ITT of the whole tour. Odd that there is only on and it is so late in the Tour, but nevertheless I've actually found this year's parcours rather entertaining, even though on first glance I was not entirely thrilled with it. This ITT is a little bit hilly, which brings some of the absolute gun ITT specialists back to the field a bit. The most interesting thing is the battle for 2nd, 3rd and 4th overall, with the gap from 2nd to 4th only 15 seconds. Valverde is probably the best time triallist of the three, but we've seen in past editions of the Tour that when GC is on the line, people lift.
As for the stage result itself, Tony Martin is the favourite, and rightly so. He has been anonymous since the last rest day, undoubtedly saving himself for this stage. Others to look out for are; Svein Tuft, Benat Intxausti, Jon Izaguirre, Ruben Plaza, Sylvain Chavanel, Lars Boom, Richie Porte, Michael Rogers and Luke Durbridge
Conversation regarding past cases of PED use or innuendo surrounding current riders will not be tolerated. This thread is specifically about Stage 20 of the 2014 Tour de France, so let's keep it that way.
