Scenario 2 : Weller actually want to stay but knew freo use him as trade bait, unhappy stay another year let contract run off.

Scenario 3: nobody come in, left with suban and co

Scenario 4 : end up like calton. Sack Ross with bad result.( pav , Sandi , macca gone)

or use draft pick and something for Bennell and keep Weller who loves freo and wants to stay forever.

Agree, we are too quick to write off a first round draft pick who has not had an opportunity to show his wares. We could as easily have traded out Fyfe for a "proven" player from another club.

Let's trust our recruiters have done their homework, and from what I have seen of Lachie at Peel I think they have.

I know I'm out of step with most people here, but I think character is a hugely important thing in building a club's culture. Getting someone from the Suns' "party" culture might be as silly as getting Sylvia from Melbourne's mediocre culture

Couldn't agree more. It would lessen the damage to the club if bennell turned into a bust but we had held on to Weller.

Yeah I agree in keeping Weller if at all possible. It just may be that we need to roll some dice and our currency is in potential at the moment.

the trick is to improve your list,not break even. We need to use picks and keep them both. I watched a replay of the Port match 2 nights ago and on closer scrutiny Weller was excellent. Equally as good as brady grey but with better disposal. I might be wrong also, but I think he is going to be a gun.

I watched the replay too,Weller was very impressive.I just hope Bennell nominates us and no other club.If this happens,we should be able to see both Weller and Bennell running around in purple next year.

Jetta has proved his effort is questionable. I can't recall Bennell's effort & talent ever being questioned. Only his off field stuff.I see Jetta as the greater risk.

Bennell is the better player, but Bennell is higher risk. I am moe than Happy if Jetta joins Freo and kicks 40-45 goals a season for Freo. He has done it at the swans. Plus Jetta has played in a premiership, Bennell hasn't.

Agreed on his potential - but he's not there yet.

I suppose I'm thinking if he makes his way to Melbourne it gives him a chance to grow into his own man. Not saying he can do that here in Perth - but he benefit from going on his own and avoiding possible bad influences back home. . and before you jump all over me that was what an indigenous bloke at my work suggested. Harley has the potential but he does need to mature. Saying that I have no probs if he plays in purple - I'm just not as convinced as some here that he is the messiah. The other issue - What does GCFC want? I'm expecting mass overs. I personally wouldnt be throwing Weller or multiple first round picks at GC. There is a reason after all they booted him.

We still need to address the KPF problem. That to me is the priority signing.. if we can get one.

Then why don't trade lower pick for him and play hard ball with gold coast. Why his manager still look for better option for him. Don't you remember Clark (cat) use family member sickness as we negotiate the deal nearly done and jump ship. Player manager get what is best for themselves also. Don't get me wrong if we can get him cheap and put clause in his contract by all mean go for it. He is really a talented guy on field.

We will, theres no way were going to come out one day one and see here's our first round pick.

Ultimately we may end up giving them that but I won't be through lack of trying.

Remember Harley has a contract already that's paying him 600k, highly unlikely that he is going to make more then that right now so I don't think his manager has anything to gain by trying to steer him in any given direction.
