Should have gone after Casboult . would have got him for next to nothing.
Would have been very handy in our side.

That was a bargain buy and a real oversite by our brains trust to let h8m go. Great player if played in the right position (which he is with the dogs).View attachment 717178
Lloyd equal 12th on afl goal kicking table, ahead of some big names. What a great recruit considering we paid a packet of chips for him

*ThreeHey fronk , our 2 WA boys are going to give us plenty to look forward to in the coming years.
Both outstanding ,
What do you think ?
Rumour is that someone has offered him over $500k a season for 4 years so he’ll request a trade. Suggestion is that it’s us.What are these petrucelle rumours? He would slot into a fwd pocket nicely as the pressure forward... Wouldnt overpay to bring him across however

Worth mentioning that the source has proven himself to be a giant nuff on the main boards and his own team's board, so I wouldn't put much stock into this rumourRumour is that someone has offered him over $500k a season for 4 years so he’ll request a trade. Suggestion is that it’s us.

I'm surer we'll have people wanting to trade out Dunkley again after our next loss. It's getting towards that time of year. The 'I have a mate, who knows someone, whose brother's best mate's girlfriend heard that player x might be unhappy and may or may not ask for a trade. Perhaps'.
Should be fun.
Brad Hill was good yesterday. He would be nice in the side
The Carlton board are 100% convinced right now that Martin is a definite, while Papley is almost certain to come over. Can't wait for the trade period when neither happensI'm surer we'll have people wanting to trade out Dunkley again after our next loss.
Every team has supporters prone to overreaction or rumour mongering.
Papley is Swans royalty going back three generations, I'd be very very surprised if he leaves. The Carlton board are 100% convinced right now that Martin is a definite, while Papley is almost certain to come over. Can't wait for the trade period when neither happens

I'm thinking Martin is pretty likely - we were extremely keen on him in his draft year, and nearly gave up multiple picks to gain priority access (pretty sure they ended up being the Stringer and Macrae picks). The club has also made it pretty clear we'll be pursuing some indigenous talent this year, so he really does fit the description for a major target for us.Papley is Swans royalty going back three generations, I'd be very very surprised if he leaves.
I suspect we get one 'big' fish this year and Martin is the one I think is most likely.
I highly doubt Cogs goes anywhere other than Hawks to be honest. Butler looks a chance, but not exactly a high profile recruit. They are starting to look more appealing. I think they are a genuine sniff of getting Coniglio and Butler from Richmond. Papley will stay.
We'd be in the hunt for Butler if we were interested but I haven't seen anything linking us.They are starting to look more appealing. I think they are a genuine sniff of getting Coniglio and Butler from Richmond. Papley will stay.

Agree with you both on Papley going nowhere. He's likely just pumping his contract by not signing on sooner

Coniglio is a restricted free agent this year, so quite possible they get him.How do the hawks get Coniglio? I agree he they normally pull stuff like this off but with Patton basically confirmed how do they do it and haven’t they given away most of their picks?
From most reports, he's willing to sacrifice a huge amount of salary (like Lynch at Richmond) to get over there. They also recently extended Tom Mitchell's contract, despite him already being contracted until 2021, which just screams a payment restructure. With a few of their veterans likely on their way out, particularly Roughead and Smith, as well as a good chunk of Patton's contract likely to be covered by GWS, they will actually have a decent amount of cap space. Patton won't cost too much, while Cogs will come over for unders. How do the hawks get Coniglio?
