If you're going to come here at least try being seriousWell that would depend on whether you actually want him or not.
Certainly you can offer Pick 30 straight up but then we'd simply hold him to his contract and renegotiate a new long term deal. Absolutely certain Juicy will take a 3 x $550k offer to stay a Saint if the Doggies aren't legit in the trade dealings.
Keep this at the front of your thinking - he isn't leaving St Kilda because he's unhappy - he's looking at leaving because ATM you have offered a better longer term deal than his current contract which has one year remaining.
If you don't want to part with Pick 12 you are more than welcome to offer up Pick 30 for any other CHF that is currently available. Perhaps you can look at the Dons and Daniher or maybe Sydney and Buddy.
Although that said Pick 30 and Lipinski seems a good alternate starting point to Pick 12.
Now get Keath.Syd - Pick 30
Saints - Jones
Dogs - Bruce

We're getting way too good a deal there, would genuinely be shocked if we only paid Pick 30 for BruceSyd - Pick 30

I don't see how we get away with getting in both Keath and Bruce without losing our 1st in some capacity. Saints would balk at an offer of Pick 30, and tell us to go find something better. They may need picks, but they're not just going to bend over and let us have our way with them. Jones can be had for a future 2nd if neededStkilda needs picks and can guarantee you we won’t be giving up our first. This seems most logical
All fair comment but all clubs have options - we could split 5 with WCE, perhaps a 3 way deal between us, Freo and Geelong means we can get Hill with Pick 12.The discussion was around us getting 21 or 26 from Crows for 12 and giving you that. Not 30. The point is 24 hours ago it looked likely 12 would get to Saints in some way. But with Keath nominating us we have much more options for getting these trades done now. If you want 12, if it’s involved, you need to find something to send back because currently the Crows are a lot more attractive to send 12 to.
We also have options in splitting 12 with say a West Coast, or upgrading our 3 third rounders with Freos second to help their NGA bid.
We have a lot of options to get Bruce and Keath, Saints not so much if you want 12.
If the Saints can get a Dog's player to nominate them as the club they want to play at I have no doubt the Dogs would look at a trade of that player for Bruce....Yeah OK unders I know but I really want Lipinski so how about Bruce for 41 and Lipinski? Can't get fairer than that!!

None of us are party to those discussion's that's why I look at straight trades only.
My view is that Bruce would be a very very good pick up for your side and would lift you to genuine top 4 status so I'd expect that the deal will reflect that.
If it was a straight trade, in the current environment Pick 15 to 18 is about the right mark.
Only guys I can see that happening with are someone like McLean (worth pretty much the same as Bruce), Gowers (we'd have to send a decent pick with him), Greene (same as Gowers) or Jong (same again). Everyone else is either absolutely required, would never leave, or is worth absolutely nothing. If the Saints can get a Dog's player to nominate them as the club they want to play at I have no doubt the Dogs would look at a trade of that player for Bruce....
Good luck with that....
I’m thinking we are going to get Bruce and Keath for a song. With the other trades the saints need to get done they can’t play hard ball even tho there supporters want them to!! Going to be good to be on the winning side of trade week.Well that would depend on whether you actually want him or not.

Stew Crameri is a reasonable starting point to try and value a Bruce trade.
He cost pick 16. He was 2 years younger than Bruce, but obviously a medium forward, not a key position player.
Their goal kicking stats are very similar.
So around that early/mid 20s mark is about right for Bruce.
30 seems bang on for Keath.
I love the idea of throwing our 3rd rounders together to try and get that freo pick 24.
Still guessing we’ll have to split pick 12, but confident we’ll land both boys and still have a pick inside 25.

Nothing stopping him playing for quite some time still .. Morris was 36 .. yes yes no-one is the same as Morris but there's no reasonCrameri comparison makes me slightly uneasy.
We got 2-3 good years out of him before his past association with the druggies caught up with him. Meanwhile Essendon got a whole career out of Zach Merrett for pick 26 (originally a Doggies fan IIRC). Good luck to them for their astute drafting of course.
Anyone claiming Bruce is worth a first rounder needs to remember we’ll probably get only 3-4 good years out of him, not 10.
Correction sorry. He cost pick 26.
