Still basically unknown quantities so a basic contract:
Dominic Bedendo
Riley Garcia
Louis Butler
Buku Khamis (Cat B Rookie)
Charlie Parker (R)
Robbie McComb (R)
Cody Raak (Cat B Rookie)

Bedendo- Retain, being trained in a new position and has looked pretty good.
Garcia- Retain, had bad luck with injuries but his ability to burst out of the stoppage is a big weapon
Butler- Delist, just average at best in most regards.
Khamis- Retain, make sure that he stays being trained as a forward and works on his stamina
Parker- Retain, very raw coming in but there has been an obvious improvement in performance week on week
McComb- Could go either, we might want a mature body as depth or we could cut him as there isn't a huge scope of possible improvement.
Raak- Retain for another year but I don't personally see it.

Why would he be dropped? Baz is out, and West has been just fine.
The vagaries of the Selection Committee and hidden criteria for selection. Has young West been playing his role ? I'm reminded of Barassi dragging Blight for not centering his kick from the boundary line when the media extolled Blight's genius goal from an impossible angle. What lurks in the minds of our betters is always intriguing.

and thus it entertains us, intrigues us, frustrates us and so on......that is the mind of our betters

I have 2 really close mates who have coached, one bush footy, t'other school and university in Canberra. They see things in games I don't, my "betters". Back in 19 mumble mumble, I once had the privilege of sitting next to Brian Royal at a game. At quarter time, we were in front, Big Ilya Grygic having soccered through a goal seconds before the siren. Optimistic me, pleased that we were in front. Brian's comment was that we were lucky to be in front, then in a couple of sentences, pointed out our weaknesses. We lost.

I'm not sure West will stay. If he's dropped this week I'd be looking elsewhere
Few more good games and West cements a spot in our best 22, his on the right path and doing a lot of things correctly.

although our selection committee does work in mysterious ways, who ****ing knows any more.

Sweet will ask to leave if he isn't given much more game time.
Sign Goldstein, DFA sign a forward/ruck like Ballendon or Crossley, draft a kid.

Sweet is "ok" and I'd prefer to keep him but I would lose sleep if he walked and we had a replacement lined up.

I'd be disappointed if Cordy is re-signed but if he is it must be a 1 year deal only on reduced salary.
I’d delist for sure and then re-draft on minimum chips in the 4th or 5th round if nothing better is there. If North pull a Hugh Greenwood then no issues.

Does Garcia actually have burst speed? He has elite agility so looks super quick over 5 meters but has always looked a little slow to me when running in straight lines.

Brian "Choco" Royal played in my favourite periods as a Doggies Supporter. Western Oval days Saturday afternoon.

Loved the jumper of that period and his number 33 was on one of my jumpers.

Still get a kick out of seeing number 33 on the ground now.

Was also the number given to Ryan Shaggy Hargrave when he first arrived at the Kennel and he played his first game in that number.

What’s the point of signing Goldy? He will end up in the same position as Sweet. We hate playing two rucks.

Does anyone know how the rookie list works now? It used to be 3 years on a rookie list then you had to upgrade or delist.

Sweet is still listed as a rookie everywhere I've looked and this would be his 4th year on the list. Is it 5 years now or is that rule scrapped? He's still contracted for next year.

You must have loved Brad Murphy. Pick #33 wearing the number #33 who averaged 33 fantasy points per game (may have made the last one up).

Goldy isn't a terrible forward, takes marks and impacts around the ground they're nothing alike

Supposedly Tim wants to be the main man in the ruck. I just can’t see a Bevo team with Goldy playing 70% forward. If it were up to me id play Goldy 70% and Tim 30% with Tim Naughts and Bruce playing forward.

Goldy has been splitting with Xerri this year and has kicked 11 goals averages 12 disposals and 3 marks a game. He can certainly be that 3rd tall forward option with Bruce and Naughts

Goldy can play forward as he's doing this year too support Naughton as well as playing R2, and having a playing ruck coach (a la Martin) takes pressure off the soft cap.

Also has played more then 20 games every year bar 2 (17 2020* Covid & 19 in 2017) so has no durability issues like Stef had
