Hard not think the bombers were close to giving us 2 first rounders for Dunkley. We would have been in a much better position now with those picks and Lipinski would have stayed. Oh well as they say if your Aunty had ba.. she would be your uncle.

Lipinski wouldn’t be getting the extra midfield time from this year anyway.
Riley West will get his opportunity to shine.

Didn’t realise Wingard is turning 30 geez this shit moves quickly, probably wouldn’t touch 21 tbh but judging by the other deals I suspect 30 would get it done anyway. Still take 11 & 21 (should we have it 🤷‍♂️) to the draft. He also hasn’t played more than 17 games since he got to the Hawks is a bit injury prone.

But at his best he’s a good tackler, good finisher and is very good when it comes to setting up other forwards - 3 things we severely need down there.

Cody Naughty Lobb
Wingard Marra West/JJ

That’s a hell of a mix

They must have some serious cap space? If we’re paying some of his contract then I’d be wanting something half decent back from Melb tbh.

Getting anything for a package of Schach & Hunter would be a win though (so long as we get Lobb otherwise I’d keep Schache)

Then we could start to say we’ve really cleaned house this off-season
Would be F2 at best really

If he does go, you'd have to assume we'd have a massive war chest next offseason + a couple of first rounders to play with

Will definitely be for picks next year assuming he goes. Same for Schache, unless they are a package deal. Demons have a weak hand this year. 13, 54 and 72. Next year they have picks 13, 14, 32, 33, 52. So you'd think it would be one of the picks in the 30's.

Imagine we land Our 1st, Lions 1st, Our 2nd, Demons 2nd, and IF Lions give us an attached F2 along with the Dunkley trade. That would be 5 picks inside the top 35. Could trade back into this year, or package up for higher picks next year. Either way it would be a good hand.

I reckon if they took Hunters contract off our hands, we'd let him go for basically nothing. Little pick upgrade would be fine

Again, that’s complete bullshit. Do you honestly think, for example, if Bailey Smith wants to go, him and his manger will say “well, we were gonna nominate Hawthorn, but because the Bulldogs let Josh Dunkley walk to the Draft, we’ll instead stay at the Bulldogs for the rest of Bailey’s career”. If a player wants to leave, he will leave. Not once will they think about the time the Josh Dunkley trade didn’t go through.

You've missed the point. Of course, players will leave if they want to leave, all I'm saying is perhaps they'll get their s*** together.

What we have with Dunkley and Pickering is railroading us into dealing with one club that's intent on screwing he over and a club that hasn't once considered they might have to pay a fair price for Dunkley.

Instead of a player and a manager dictating terms, if we walk Dunkley to the PSD it says to players they don't dictate all the terms and if the club isn't fairly compensated a deal doesn't happen.
