Power should have specified to play for the Delisting and that included the Mars Ballarat game

Has played once decent game his whole career - against us this year in our diabolical 1 point loss. 26 touches and 9 marks. Averages 11 & 4. Got dropped 2 weeks later and has not played since.Has played for forward than in defence. I would not go there - is not improving us at all.

I might be wrong here but I feel like he's actually played mostly in defence at VFL level for the past couple of years? I'm not sure he's AFL standard in any position tbh.

He isn’t athletic enough for a first round pick. Better choices in KPF that WILL be available at that pick.
Mid Second round, Van Es is a good choice….

Weideman is worse than Scache as a forward in a team that has a top forward line. Both will be delisted anyways and I doubt dogs will delist Scache and pick up Weideman. I saw Frampton a few times early in the season. He's got a decent contested mark. As a DFA or rookie he'll be ok depth. I would rather get Frost as a FA. Athletic and has good speed.

Melbourne doesn't have a top forward line. It's pretty ordinary

I am growing on the idea of Shifting Schache to CHB and just leaving him there for the rest of the year. Pies want him as a forward, so I think he is gone. [emoji20]

Yeah, but is it one most punters would consider an actual KPD, or one Bevo thinks he can mould from a:

• 190-192cm interceptor
• third tall
• failed forward
• rookie about to be delisted
• other Bevo pet project Bingo choice

into what he thinks is a KPD?!

No resource we have (Schache) that could be turned into a competent key defender should be sacrificed. Would rather keep Schache as a forward, but if this is not possible, switch him to the backline permanently for a year or two, and give ourselves a chance of maybe finding something.

I’m not sold on Weideman as a defender. I think he’s a little bit more athletic and a little bit better at contested marking than Schache. But would barely be an upgrade, if at all, just more of the same imo.

I think Schache is a fair comparison, Weideman is quicker but Schache's a better field kick.
I'm not sold on Weideman or Frampton but there was an interview a while back where Power mentioned a forward becoming a defender.

I hope we don't fall for the Frampton trap.
I saw him live earlier this year and it was a mess.

Every time I hear this phrase, I think of this ad.

Hardie obviously featured, but Malthouse and Choco overjoyed on the night at his win, then getting Tony Capes, Shane O'Sullivan, Charlie Sutton, Ray Walker, Malthouse and others suited up for the finale. Good times, even if we bowed out one week too early.
