I know we’re not privy to this stuff so maybe it’s the case but I’m really not sure what those instructions would be, maybe he makes too many forward, attacking handballs rather than going backwards like Bevo loves?

Literally my favourite part about him is he isnt suckered into the constant feed the ball back attitude after a crumb inside 50.

Well we can afford to carry him. Who’s the alternative? McNeil? McLean? McComb? I’d take an out of form Baz ahead of any of those players and he’d still outperform them.

Right now where Bailey Smith is at what role is he playing?

Is he playing well enough to hold down a wing?
Is he playing well enough to hold down a midfield role?

Playing him in the VFL is not suggesting anything about his ability it is more to do with confidence and at the moment he has lost confidence and it has been sometime he has lost it.

Bailey Smith played a lot of his juniors off half back and it was his form here that saw him rise up the draft ranks and he really only spent part of his final year on ball. He's kicking was a real strength back then.
It's a lot easier to find options coming out of defense then heading into the forward line so perhaps a run back there might boost his confidence.
Not sure who he replaces though. Maybe Richards replaces Durea playing deeper.

Half forward/Wing

Like the question was posed to you who replaces him?

May not be a direct replacement you may opt to go with a different structure

May be AJ is not sub and he plays West's role and West plays Bailey's role

You may bring in a Clarke from VFL and see above

Garcia can come in also and provide an alternative structure

You may consider McLean his VFL form has been solid

These are suggestions

Garcia is still out crook

For those in the know, what are the chances we are watching Bianco not necessarily Ginnivan ? And if on the off chance that's the case, do you think that may be a good thing or a not so good thing?

You would only consider that in off season as his disposal is a real issue and coming out of the backline in the role you describe you must be able to hit a target

Presumably Hannan’s LTI means he and Bruce are two of our delistings. Crozier seems likely too. Probably McLean and McComb will be last minute decisions depending on how many picks/trades we make.

Delisting 4-5 of them (would feel sad about McLean) and replacing them with draftees and a younger traded in player or two in positions of need would put the list in much better shape.

Hopefully Naughton and English and even JUH Re-Sign soon don’t think the new CBA has been ticked off yet
I'd be pretty confident on Naughton staying he was talking about jamarra and his partnership post game and seems super invested
Yeah naughton and English both look likely to stay.
CBA is still waiting to be ticked off, the AFL is looking to increase draftees contracts from 2 up to 3 years and the AFLPA are using that to try and bring free agency forward so a fair bit to work out before it all gets approved.

Once the CBA gets a bit closer and clubs/managers get a better indication of where it all sits we will see alot of clubs lock in players and also target others.

Free Agency should stay at 8 years

Theres a list of about 8 we can delist Bruce, Crozier, McNeil, Roarke, TOB, Hannan, McComb and McLean all except McNeil are 26/27+ and just the definiton of list cloggers,

We need to replace them through the draft as well as with a few via trade if available on the cheaper side

My guess at this stage is that our outs will include:
  • Hannan
  • McComb
  • McLean
  • Crozier
  • Bruce
  • Buku
  • Roarke

There’s probably a case for one or two of the above (seems harsh for Buku but they don’t play him).

There’s a chance Duryea and Williams will not be at the club next year as well.

That’s a pretty significant pruning, but we get to fill in with some reasonable picks at least. Hopefully a midfield focus outside of Croft.

I wouldn’t move all of them as I would say some are depth in the list as opposed to list cloggers but agree there is sone room to move players on
