Macrae has 4 years left on his contract too. I hate long term contracts for players >25 years of age. Even for someone who has been as super consistent as him.

I think he can fill a role somewhere on the ground when he is not on ball.

Maybe in the back half ala Matthew Boyd?

Trade English for as much as we can get now.

Use it to rebuild the midfield and backline along with this years first + the lions first.

Yep after seeing the game today Smith can go to Geelong and Williams can walk to Adelaide, Macrae needs a different role as he struggles to impact and we really need a good midfield coach that asserts a two way running mindset.

Maybe wing or something? I'm not sure HFF is his game.
He is a deceptively good kick and can slow the game around him.

It can all change when we sort our flailing midfield out and we get back on top.

Smith looked better when he switched back into the middle hopefully with a permanent return he can return to form.
I'd be moving out Treloar and Macrea before him, can't carry all these mids that don't have a secondary position. Macrea at HF seems to have killed his game aswell, looked lost when he did get back into starting in the centre.
I wouldn't mind seeing Williams as a defensive Mid before we move him on.
I never want to see Daniel at a centre bounces again. Looks OK pinch hitting at half Forward but need to make room for him in defence, ideally rolling Dale onto a wing.

He's spent most of this year playing high forward, and playing it well.

Bailey Smith is the fumbliest I've ever seen him. VDM notably fumbly with ground balls today too.

He was never fast, its just a matter of the game speeding up and not being played to his strengths.
