I’d be surprised and disappointed if the AFL tick off on the Gresham/Shiel plan. Openly trying to rort the system. Apparently they knocked back an attempt by Adelaide to do the same thing with Brad Crouch and obviously famously didn’t allow GWS to do the five way trade to give themselves the pick 1 MD to get O’Meara

He's on about a million a year, we would defintely have to say goodbye to Baz to accomdate that and might affect Naughton, English, JUH contract offers as well.
If you have Oliver Baz isn’t that big of a loss salary cap increase helps with the talls

Billings has had games of 30+ and at least two goals five times in his career, imagine one of the wing options at the club right now doing that once. He's the type of player who could be a complete bust or become a bargain buy.
How does that compare when BW played on a wing for us? Has kicked multiple twice in way less games.
I’d suggest Billing used to save his best for us but he’s not on his Pat there

Sniffing around some demon mates with the Oliver stuff.

Has a break up with a long term partner last year which he struggled with.

Then the long term injury which he clashed with the demons conditioning staff. He went outside the club to get knee surgery end of season.

Then apparently turned up half ashed to his end of season review.

So demons may be open to losing him but others keen to get him in the right track.

Of course they're talking about getting picks 2 and 3 from North for him... [emoji23]

They have no chance of trading him to a shit team

Another long term deal looking like it might be going wrong for a club not too long after being signed. Quoting my earlier post from a while back on this because I'm firmly of the mindset that they're poisoned chalices which should be avoided, no matter who the player is.

I hate it. I understand that the market has moved in this direction but if I had it my way we would give max 4 year deals to the best players and no more than 2-3 year deals to anyone who isn't clearly in the top few. Certainly no deals beyond 3 years to anyone on the wrong side of 26/27 unless you're a Bontempelli type.

So often they seem to come back to bite clubs - our 5 year Macrae deal right now looks extremely shakey, then you look at others like Kelly & Coniglio at the Giants, Grundy at the Pies etc and plenty more examples. Everyone raves about them when pen gets put to paper but they just feel irresponsible to me. Even 27 year old Harry Himmelberg managed to get himself a 6 year, $5m deal ffs.

The idea of getting him back is somewhat romantic due to 2016 but the bloke has played a grand total of 6 games across the past 4 seasons. We need someone reliable, not someone who'll likely spend the majority of time in rehab if recent history is anything to go by.
Sydney must think he's capable of getting back on the park, if he came cheap I'd have loved to have him back. I won't be surprised if he comes good at the Swans.

Would take Oliver in a heartbeat, give them Baz and our two firsts this year. He'll demand a kings ransom to be moved though.

He won’t though it’ll be 2 firsts

Similar to when we moved Jake on off field issues tank the price

I can't stand Oliver. Toby would be the only player in the comp I dislike more. So unlikeable.

He is as good a ball winner in the comp and even if you don't have the assets, you'd have to enquire about him.

I'm guessing Melbourne is only willing to do it if they can get pick 1 as a minimum, well within their right to ask for more than that. Not sure if that will be possible so can't see it eventuating but will be an interesting watch.
