Just a FYI to all those who want to get rid of Tim English and bring in a big wrestling ruckman.

The ruck rules are being changed next year to suit more agile jumping ruckman. We won't be seeing any more wrestling between the ruckman before the ball is even thrown up.

Tim English would arguably be the biggest benefactor with these changes. Why would you want to get rid of an AA caliber ruckman right before the rules are changed to suit him more?
He doesn’t jump

He never plays though and is on a huge deal. Not good one on one either, value lies as an interceptor. Giving up a first and probably a second is too much. Plus could get medically retired with his next head knock.

Had an awesome matchup with Naughton in the 2021 final. Naughts ended up having a great game too, might have taken the chocolates even but Ridley was great and won a lot of one on ones

It was the first time I'd ever noticed him going to an important forward and thought it was a really good move but then the following season (by his preference or coaching decision, not sure) he was back on the least dangerous forwards while Laverde and Kelly got towelled up. He was never fit so that was his biggest issue but was surprised they didn't stick with him playing as a proper defender

Played on Naughton again this year and was awful, might have been checked out. Got subbed out injured again in the first or second quarter anyway

Wouldn't Eagles lose pick 2 compensation for Allen if Starcevich goes there as a free agent?
They are trying to get a exemption that he doesn't count against the Allen compo instead of a asking for priority picks. Expect AFL will approve it. The other thing Eagles after is a expanded rookie list.

They are ruthless in their ambition to win. Wish we were too. They don't just bank on internal development, they take risks and act aggressively.

We should be sounding out Hinkley if it helped us get Butters.
The feeling is he will still pick one of the two clubs in the West.

Another example of the Dawks trying to come in and cut our lunch.

Good strategy if it works, why wouldn't we try it? As previous post stated we need to be completely ruthless in the way we recruit top players from other clubs.
He wants to be as close to family as possible. Dingley is 80 odd km away and 1.5 hours with no traffic.

Footscray is 50km.

Geelong 60km

Doubt he wants the Dawks. He also doesn't like them.

Ah the afl just making shit up as it goes along.
