Not that it wasn't obvious at the time and assuming this reporting is accurate. It explains why Connors was so keen to sell the redemption arc to Jamara's story last week.

Exit meeting or not. They were trying to get out in front of a story that they clearly knew was coming.

12 months you would have said it was a diasaster but we are where we are.

Statistically Baileys year this year is only mildly better then his 2022 year

He is just getting better PR now he is at one of the leagues love child clubs

One thing he has improved is his strength in the contest, he is very hard to tackle and always manages to dispose of the ball. I still think Holmes has him covered by the length of the Flemington straight though.

How does Ryan Gardner turn into Prime Stephen Silvagni in the VFL but then turn into... well Ryan Gardner in the AFL?

Baffling because he is by far the best KPD in the VFL and one of the major reasons Footscray has the best defence and won 14 straight games including the Grand Final.

The VFL side's defensive system is radically different from the AFL side's defence. Playing a more traditional defensive setup (which on the weekend also saw an extra defender sometimes pushed back into D50) suits Gards down to a tee.

I'd they want him as a defender he'd be replacing McGovern before he'd replace Silvani.
They play vastly different roles.

McGovern has been told to explore his options.

Normally I'd think a third rounder for a player who struggles to break into the team but if they are offering 4 years at 600k they obviously want him bad enough to give us a second.

I'd assume we ask for a second and offer a 4th rounder back, they ask for a third too or a bunch of pick swaps.

It isn't far off though we would throw in an F2 or 28 from this year to get it done

That's the attraction. Is that enough? Who knows.

There’s also the if I bide my time option….Libba, Treloar both not many years left - we should have plenty of mid time
