Jon Ralph for Fox Footy on Jamie Elliott;

“He would love to finish his career as a one-club player, he has huge loyalty there (at Collingwood), but he certainly has family connections up in Airlie Beach ... I think he is absolutely considering it at the moment.”

Someone needs to get the Fox Sports morons a map.
Can confirm Airlie is a 14 hour drive from the Gold Coast

I honestly, hand on heart, wouldn’t even do Wilkie + 3 first round picks for Freijah.

I’d trade Freijah for 3 first round picks, Wilkie & Billings.

Your move, Saints.

Power doesn't really rate Wilkie. The $$$ we're offering are from Port. We'll give our first for Wilkie, then on-trade Wilkie to Port plus picks for Butters. Butters will then play full back.

You heard it here first... bookmark it! 😄😄😄

If it's true that the Saints want Freijah then that is a big step forward in a deal. Let's Wilkie know they will entertain trading him.
I mean there should be no way we should actually trade him but as a chapter of the trade period shuffle this could be what gets things moving.

The recent changes with bid matching makes me wary of trading for Butters, given we’d risk missing out on one or both of El Souki and West. I know he’s a star but are we that lacking in the middle? Richards was AA and we have Freijah coming through. Meanwhile our KPD stocks are bare and we are desperate for quality small forwards.

Trading for Butters could literally cost us the chance at a KPD as well as cooking us for two consecutive drafts. He’s a star but I’m not sure it’s worth it, given how much we lament the JUH/Darcy drafts.

I'm inclined to agree, but Butters is a special player who would shore up our midfield, which, contrary to popular opinion, showed some noticeable defensive holes against better opposition. Obviously we have to get a key back also, and I'm sure we will, but Butters' manic defensive capabilities will have just as much impact on the ball not being continually served up on a platter to opposition forwards.

But it's also important for our football club that we finally break our duck and grab a Top 10 player in the comp at their absolute peak.

Agree. We seem to have a heavy obsession with midfielders as a club which is kind of weird as Smith, Dunkley and Lipinski all had complaints at not getting enough midfield time and that may have contributed to them leaving. I could see Sanders leaving for sure, may as well trade him if we get Butters.

If sanders and JUH paid a majority of the cost then I’d be okay with it. I just doubt it would

Fine I concede. Aints can have Freijah as long as we get Wilkie, Butts, and Butters + a first round pick.

Take it or leave it Aints.

Hypothetically speaking am I the only one who thinks Oleg Markov might be an upgrade on Bramble? DFA would be on minimum chips too.
