Outta curiosity - why would Jamarra and his management rip up a contract for $800k to sign for less? Am I missing something?
Even that would be a disaster for us considering their first will blow out to mid 20s.The suggestions of Sanders for Butts in a direct swap are freaking crazy.
Maybe for Butts and their (late) first. But only if that unlocks a Butters trade.

A first that will blow out to the mid 20s and not make a huge difference in the Butters trade. You're not grasping whats happening here are you? If we trade Sanders for a first it won't be used to draft a player it'll be used to get Butters
If Sanders agrees to a trade and we get another first round pick then i'd go out on a limb and say Butters could end up at the dogs by end of trade period
Butters is only 4.5 years older than Sanders as well, so it's not as though we're replacing an 18 year old with a 27 year old. If you can trade draft assets and unproven midfielders for one of the best 5 mids in the game, and a genuine key defender you do it every day of the week and four times on Sunday. You're not grasping whats happening here are you? If we end up with Butts AND Butters, my happiness will know no bounds. I can't get my hopes up too much, if we end up with neither and just sign a Sam Frost it'll hurt even more. You're not grasping whats happening here are you? Sanders and our first doesn’t even secure Butters let alone both.A first that will blow out to the mid 20s and not make a huge difference in the Butters trade.
If trading Sanders and our first secured Butts and Butters, I could stomach losing him, but that’s obviously far fetched and not realistic.
Nor will the extent of butt jokes..If we end up with Butts AND Butters, my happiness will know no bounds.
Butts plugs a hole we have in the backlineNor will the extent of butt jokes..
Maybe they can throw in Lalor tooIf you're the dogs list management I would be asking about this year's first from Richmond..grab a first from them and give them garcia and our first....go to Port and go this years 1st and next years....
Exactly, so we’d be trading our future star of the comp for a mid twenties pick in a weak draft (after bids) and a fringe player who has one top 10 BnF finish (9th).Sanders and our first doesn’t even secure Butters let alone both.
I assume because we/afl have solid grounds to sack him and rip up his contract. He’ll be lucky to get a 2nd chance at all so Jeanette taking something than nothing.Outta curiosity - why would Jamarra and his management rip up a contract for $800k to sign for less? Am I missing something?

I’m not convinced Butts is an upgrade on what we have anyway, and our problem is our defensive system. One middling KPD won’t make a difference to that.
Just my opinion of course, but I’d be disguised if we traded Sanders for Butts and a first.
That’s fair, everyone values players differently which would contribute to what we view as a fair deal. FWIW my view aligns with the club re Buss. I think he’ll be very good, and likely better than Butts next year.I guess we have very different talent evaluations. I don’t think Sanders has any “star” traits and probably maxes out as a very good but slightly vanilla midfielder.
And Butts, while definitely not being a star, is a major improvement over Busslinger for mine, especially because he’s a capable one on one defender which none of our key backs are. Agree that part of the issue is system based though.
So we effectively have an additional 800k to play with & Budarick.Going by this JUH Current contract will be torn up and he will get a new one with Gold Coast

I think any perceived fondness of Buss is more making the best of a bad situation than anything else, the club went after Wilkie and Butts for a reason. That’s fair, everyone values players differently which would contribute to what we view as a fair deal. Hey guys, Cal Wilkie, Sam Collins and Alex Pearce aren't "really good KPD's".
Reckon a late pick should be enough to convince their clubs of releasing these obviously terrible players?
What you’re saying goes against everything the club has said, and what we’re doing in the trade period. Wilkie is different as he’d be a big upgrade on anyone right now, but if we thought Buss wouldn’t make it as a top line defender we would have gone harder for Butts, Silvagni and Young.I think any perceived fondness of Buss is more making the best of a bad situation than anything else, the club went after Wilkie and Butts for a reason.
I was massive on Buss prior to this year but ultimately he just hasn’t come along as he should have. It’s definitely not all over but I don’t want to be going into next season relying on him to fix our backline.
