Wilkie played 22 games in his second year on an AFL list after being picked up in the rookie draft.
Collins played 12 games in his first year on an AFL list.
Pearce played 13 games in his second year on an AFL list.
All were established AFL players well before they turned 25.
No current season stats available
You just need to read the last 20 pages matesorry if this has been discussed but Twomey says Crows asked about Sanders.

What when?sorry if this has been discussed but Twomey says Crows asked about Sanders.

That’s fair, everyone values players differently which would contribute to what we view as a fair deal. FWIW my view aligns with the club re Buss. I think he’ll be very good, and likely better than Butts next year.
He's expanding his real estate investment portfolio?Zak's house starts construction in Darley in a few weeks. Just saying.

Wilkie's 2nd season he was 24 years old.
Collins was delisted and spent a year in the VFL because no one wanted him after his first 2 years at Freo. His 1st season playing over 15 games was 2020 when he was 26 years old.
Pearce followed that 13 game season with 8 games and 0 games in his next 2 seasons. His first 20+ game season came in his 5th year at the age of 23 and with 5 pre-seasons under his belt.
"All were established AFL players before they turned 25." Are you sure about that? All were established yet 1 of those "established players" got delisted and had to ply his trade at Werribee because no other club saw any potential in him to grab him for FREE.
Even if this statement is true - which it isn't - then why aren't you giving Buss a chance to prove himself until he is 25 instead of trying to push him out now?
Also wasn't your original statement that "really good KPD players play well a lot earlier." So according to your own stats the 3 I mentioned aren't really good KPD because they didn't dominate as teenagers.
I also just heard we might be interested in Butters. Anyone have any thoughts on that?"sorry if this has been discussed but Twomey says Crows asked about Sanders.
Sanders is Vanilla. I just counted 6 young players who have more potential without thinking. He is a Mitch Wallis clone, without the hardness.Trade our most promising young star for a fringe player we could get for free next year, surely this is satire?
We are?Where keeping Sanders
On this point, having the 3 tall interceptors certainly isn't a bad thing, now that we are going to 5 on the bench. I feel like this really opens up the potential of using an extra tall in the 23, and a swingman like Lobb can be used more forward and even pinch-hitting in the ruck (which could also serve to protect Darcy too). This means we can still give games to Buss and JOD even if we bring Butts in.Buss might end up better than Butts but they are two different defenders. Butts is good at one on one and locking down his opponent, that isn’t Buss as he is an interceptor. Problem is JOD and Lobb are also interceptors, so if we don’t grab a Butts type we will be playing one of them out of position.
I’m all for trusting JOD and Buss to develop but they are 2nd and 3rd defenders, we desperately need someone to partner them with who actually can defend one on one. Otherwise I think we might actually be hindering their development.
Yep Collins had shown so much ability to play that he was delisted and no one wanted to pick him up as DFA... makes sense.Wilkie actually played 22 games in his 1st season on an AFL list when he turned 23 (in the March), I mistakenly listed this as his second year in my earlier post which I have now corrected, so he was more advanced than I originally suggested.
Regardless of minor hiccups in their trajectories Pearce and Collins had also shown their ability to play with far less time in the AFL system than Buss.
I never mentioned having to dominate as teenagers. I really wish you would resist the temptation to suggest that I have written things that I haven't.
I am also not trying to push Buss out. Merely suggesting that an AFL player's career window is short, Jedd has already been given longer than most to establish himself but has yet to do so, and that as a result his chances aren't great from this point on.
Anyone who is telling Jedd that he still has time on his side at this point is doing him a disservice.
He needs to get a serious wriggle on if he is going to have a long AFL career, and he should be approaching 2026 as his last chance, because it might very well be.
Wilkie was more advanced than you originally suggested but he still had 2 more years than Buss to grow into his adult body and get to a decent level before a bottom feeder club took a gamble to pick him up.Wilkie actually played 22 games in his 1st season on an AFL list when he turned 23 (in the March), I mistakenly listed this as his second year in my earlier post which I have now corrected, so he was more advanced than I originally suggested.

Ouch! Lived in Darley for many years and really liked it. Armpit of the world is not a fair way to describe it (and if we want Butters, you really shouldn’t say that stuffHe's expanding his real estate investment portfolio?
Because I cant think of a single reason why a guy who's making a $1million plus a year and soon to be the beneficiary of one of the biggest bidding wars the game has seen. Would move to the armpit of the world.

Confusing Geelong with Darley? He's expanding his real estate investment portfolio?
