Agreed, that’s why I wouldn’t be against picking up Frost as a rookie with the assumption he knows he’ll play VFL unless there is an injury.

I beleive he is an intercept defender aswell, happy to be proven wrong though.

Had the same thought then looked up the player agent. One of the only other AFL players they have is Wade Derksen, not a great week for that agent!

The trading of Jamarra is a big step in the right direction of improving our club culture. We are a much better place without the likes of Smith, JUH, Hunter and Stringer. Sure, on the surface, we are worst off for on field talent but having a much better culture is worth more for the club and overall performance.

Which begs the question: do we have an issue with our character profiling pre-draft? We either draft too many d##kheads or are worse at managing them than other clubs. You could maybe chuck in Charlie Clarke (although I'm just basing that off BigFooty rumours).

Still out of contract. Melbourne were interested but seemingly no more. I rate him as a great DFA option.

With Buku going, Croft looking like becoming a KPF option, and Jones retiring, I reckon picking up Derksen as a DFA, and Scoble as a rookie/late pick leaves our developing and depth defenders in a good state.

Won't lie, still hoping there's movement on Sanders to Adelaide. Turning that into one of Keane/Butts, and potentially ending up with their 1st on top (depending on which of those two we were able to get), leaves our list in a far better state.

There is zero reason the Cats would trade him, especially for 30 year old Marshall.

If SDK does indeed end up moving to St Kilda it would be, IMO, an unforgiveable miss by the Dogs recruitment team.

Depending on salary and trade price, and assuming there's nothing untoward that the Saints have uncovered, I agree.

If not one other option pops up, we cannot have Gardiner essentially as our only ready to go depth.

If we roll the dice not getting another key defender this off-season, we know luck will dictate next year as the season when two of Lobb/JOD/Buss will be injured at the same time.

Aleer had a very poor game against us (which I think a lot of people are judging him on), but I don't think he's the terrible option some are making him out to be. I mean, it's a worry when your highlights packages actually includes some poor moments/decisions lol, but he's got plenty to work with.

Not bad. Give me an hour or so and I’ll put together a highlights package of our vfl premiership defender that makes him look like the second coming of Bruce Doull.

Decent closing speed on aleer, might be handy in our setup. JOD often caught out of position because of a lack of speed. (I'm coping)

Obviously Dogs are focused on JUH atm and finding a KPD.

How so?

I see SDK as being more advanced as a KPD than our current stock, and a good fit with what we have. Really good age as well. We'd be an attractive proposition playing time wise as well. If there's been a late play by St Kilda that ends with him being dislodged, I find it hard to believe we couldn't have done the same.

Currently it’s the only play we have.

Facts are we're just too conservative.

We don't really put it all on the line when it comes to this time of year, being aggressive and getting on the front foot is just not our club.
