trade bait

Isn't anyone forgetting an obvious and highly valueable trade bait ?

I'm talking about Andrew Walker - No I'm sorry, but we could potentially get a top 5 draft pick for him (forget recycled players, unless it's Robbie Warnock, I want more high draft picks before the draft lock-out) and really I don't feel we've missed him much this season since he's been out, and yeah I'd say shop him around and see what we could get for him ..

agree, agree and um...agree.
perfect trade material...
he can play, but we've done pretty good without him.

I think we should trade Simon Wiggins for Matthew Pavlich.

He could provide that second forward option we all agree we need. The more you think about it, the more sense it makes.

Look, I know Wiggins has been a great Carlton player, and is much loved around here (someone called me a "***" when I suggested the Wiggins wasn't very good just the other day), but you've got to give something to get something.

I think this is a risky, but ultimately a positive, move.
Thats magic!!! Freo might just be in it judging on past drafting.

You don't rate Grigg, Arms, Browne, (Bower)?

i do rate them, but they are not first 18 material if we wanna win a premiership. We need a solid backpocket, half back flanker and center half forward. all need to be first team quality. then we have a chance to crack the top 4 and win the premiership.

You had better contact the MC and tell them they are wasting their time playing these boys

You need to think at least a little bit before you post dude.

Those 4 players wouldn't have 50 games between them and you reckon you've got their ultimate potential sussed ?

I hope for your sake that you never meet Gordon Ramsay.

i don't think we'll be too active this year.
plenty of kids, much of the potential trade bait depends on unestablished players finally reaching their potential (next year, more active and more developed players to trade), how much they want to gamble on potential.
for example... i hear about austin. setanta a defender (my heart sunk when he was dropped against st k.)? on top of jamison, waite, bower. that still leaves room for a small BP, of which none of those or thornton are. depending how aggressive they wanted to be, what sort of picks, players they want, dangle someone like thornton around. give something to get something, as much as it would leave a bitter taste in my mouth to see him go. but that's the way they'd be thinking, given that there's some to come up.
same deal for midfielders. pretty flush at the moment, it wouldn't surprise me if someone like carazzo got shipped off. but if the carlton people are happy with getting crap picks or players, handing out the crap players will be ok.

i'd think fisher could get shopped around (though he signed earlier).

Has anyone viewed the two part interview with Hoops on CFC TV? From that interview I think we can pretty much assume that he won't be going anywhere soon other than straight back into our side.
The club has shown great patience in letting Houlihan get himself right.

I know a few of the punters here on the forum get into him a bit, but I'm thinking with the hip complaints he was playing under a fair bit of stress and I reckon once he gets back onto the park it will give us another mature body to help balance up the team within both the age and experience issues, particularly if he is able to move as freely and fluidly as he did prior to the hip problems. I, for one, look forward to his return.

The reason Hoops will stay is noone will take the softy.

I hear what your saying. I know the guy is no Dean Soloman or Rhys-Jones, but I think his actual football skills are far superior to some of the other players getting a regular game and I believe we badly need more skill injected into our side. Foot skills in particular.

I don't think we need it at the expense of courage.
