Trade Bait

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

Laughing my arse off at you clowns. I'm proven right all the time on this board, yet you continue to overrate our players. Tambling and Jackson great players, ffs get a grip. At best they are core players if we are lucky.

Richard Tambling has to be trade bait he was a number 2 pick and he has yet to do anything for the club. We have to get rid of him now while he is worth something. If we wait too long to get rid of him we will only get a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him. Trade Him Now!!. Same goes for Pettifer

How am I wrong? He continues to butcher the ball, that will always be a liability. Wonder why he gets a bit of the football? The opposition let him! Deledio and Cotchin will get tagged, players like Jackson, Foley and Tuck will not.
Thank you! Finally someone here actually paying attention and not blinded by Jackson and his "stats"...yeah he's been a lot better this year..but still a very average footballer ...more of an indictment on the rest of the side if he's been amongst our best this year I'd say...

dp you mean he was our 2nd pick, or the 2nd pick? he is slowly getting there and hopefully jade keeps him in the one position instead of moving him all around. and i dont think there will be to many bids for pettifer.

Yeah I'd be pretty keen to keep Tambling if he is played as a HBF. He adds a lot of spark and run from defense and is a decent kick of the football. Playing him in defense has forced him to increase his work rate. It is generally poor when he is played in attack.

Jackson has no trade value, he is enormously underrated...doubt we would get a late 2nd rounder for him. Given his worthlessness in the eyes of other clubs, and his value to us (one of our best this year, if not the best), he is untouchable.

Many of you will disagree, but I would say he is a quicker, bigger and younger version of Kane Cornes. Beats his opponent and wins plenty of the ball himself. Wins more contested possessions and clearances than Cornes but has a slightly lower disposal efficiency due to his propensity to kick the ball more than Cornes (kicks it long alot more too). Another year like this one and he will be considered in the same league as Cornes, possibly above.

What would richmond want for Deledio?

What would richmond want for Deledio?

1st Round draft pick and a shitload of money in my eyes, he's not so old that he can't be a part of the future, that makes him almost invaluable.

Btw, all those wellsprings of pessimism over Jackson, not only is he our most valuable tagger, but he's laying tackles and being dangerous running off his opponent, my tip so far for B&F is him, provide proof otherwise with a player that has had more impact more consistently.

My policy: No more Danny Meyer's, let's at least try and develop our players.

That must really hurt!!

Is it wrong that I take such delight in anothers pain :D lol :thumbsu:

haha. good work getting it out of him

Jackson has been mighty good this year:thumbsu: keep up the good work!

Don't know all the rules of the trade but couldn't we put in say Mcmahon, JON and Ranies (possibly others) and offer them to GC17 and get a high draft pick??

lol true, maybe we can mask the smell somehow. Then WALLA second round pick.

Which players on our list would you consider trading? Personally I would place our players into 3 groups. Take any offer, Trade at the right price and Untouchable.
Take any offer:
Simmonds, Polak, Brown, Bowden, McMahon, Pettifer, Oakley-Nichols, Hughes, King
Trade at right price:
Thursfield, Raines, Edwards, Polo, Newman, Putt, Tuck, Jackson, Coughlan, Schultz, Pattison, Hislop, Thomson, Gourdis, White, Nahas, Connors, Moore, Browne
?

If there was any chance that Polak would play again at AFL then keep him, not trade him.
I'd also add Hislop to that list, and Schultz, Raines(maybe save for GC).

I wouldn't trade Nahas, Moore and Polo and Putt simply because what you'd get would not warrant trading them. They have a lot more upside than value.

Untouchables - agreed.

Have been told a couple of clubs including the pies are throwing big $$ at Deledio to move (would be great - i rate him!)

If he decided to go (only an IF), what would you think would be a fair trade with Collingwood?

If we are forced to trade it would take your first round pick and one of your promising juniors. Even then we would lose.

The reality is that we will keep most of our under 23-24 players. The only player over that age that would attract any interest is Newman. If we can find a club that over-rates him as much as we do then that would be the trade to make.

Hansen, staker and will chuck in seaby for cousins:thumbsu:
how about your first pick. cousins is proberley our most important player so that should be right.

thursfield would get alot of intrest as he is young and a proven FB, and someone would bid for Graham but other than that your right.

Where is beaver fever.
I thought he would be the first one in here confirming Jacksons current status as the man leading our B&F at the half way mark.

As displayed once again, Beav's very adept in the art of non-commital half-arsed admissions of being wrong, and when all else fails, just coveniently forgetting he was a participant when he's lost a debate. ;)

As to the OP, it really depends on what is offered, what juniors are available and what deals can be done tradewise.

Newman is very expendable and has some trade currency (most of our players don't), other than that there's not much...Foley is our most expendable decent midfielder with good trade currency, but we're still too thin in that department and his current form may well be due to a niggle or two. Moore is borderline too old plus neither his rebounding or man marking skills are likely to see him attract a worthwhile pick, Thursfield is an old fashioned full-back and there's several available late every draft - might attract some interest from GC, but bear in mind a 2nd rounder could net you a Rance or Post who's got way more rebounding ability and will be ready relatively early on in their career.

No way in hell would I have Jackson as expendable and Foley untouchable...Jackson's only just begun to hit his straps. Some people apparently think we've seen all he'll ever have to offer, forgetting he's barely 23 and in his first breakthrough season.

With some non-Richmond luck, he'll be the Kirk/Ling-style, reliable, tough as nails lodestone of our midfield for many years to come and no trade deal gamble on a junior in a compromised draft is worth losing that.

Any $$$ Collingwood are offering I would be suspect about.

My guess is they are one of a number of clubs who see the Tigers offloading their older players and freeing up alot of salary cap. All they're trying to do is eat into this surplus by inflating that salary expectations of our young fellas.

Will be interesting to see how professionally the Tigers respond to this.
