Did anyone else hear on the radio that McKenzie has been looking at a move to Victoria/NSW?
As he should be. He will only make the team now if Barrass or McGovern get injured

Of course, he's been surplus to needs the whole second half the year. Hopefully we can take advantage of it somehow

I look at it this way Godfather32. History has shown that players coming back from a knee reconstruction generally take until the second season back after the op to get any where near back to their best. So what a bonus if The Big Ezy gets some form back and he can hold down CHB.

Then McGovern gets to play CHF then than spine starts looking super scary;

Barrass
Ezy

McGovern
Kennedy

( Nice Claremont contribution to that spine.... just quietly ;););) )

McKenzie is still contracted and I would prefer to keep him , however if he was able garner a very good swap of a player or a pick then we would be silly not to at least entertain the idea. Win / Win.

Agreed, I'd really like to see McGovern at CHF, I think he'd be amazing there, but I think McKenzie will want to leave. He'd be worried that he won't get a game next year and you couldn't blame him if he wanted to go considering these guys get such short careers and only have a few years to make some decent coin.

Plus you dont want to put too much onto young players in Barrass and McGovern , slow build requires good reserves .

What's the least pick you would accept for McKenzie?

Early second as that I think at this stage in assessing the kids, before the Combine, that pick would get us SPP or Dylan Clarke.

Therefore keeping our first rounder to get best available or even trade, personally I would like us to keep our first rounder ( which after tonights effort may well be pick # 18 :p ).

Yes but bringing Harvey in is going to stop Partington/Nelson or someone similar from having a spot in the team and developing
He could also fast track the development of some of the younger players. Never underestimate the value of veteran leadership at training and game day.

The last thing we need is another front runner , incapable of getting his own ball.
Harvey is clever, a good reader of play, knows when and where to run forward of play, has pace and good disposal, all positives.
He is also horrible defensively, almost 40 next year, can't win his own ball, often takes the easy way out and selfish.
An almost 40 year old outside mid with no other positional ability or versatility is the last thing this club needs.
So he's a faster LeCras?

Pick up SPP with this years first and thats very likely enough high end midfield picks for a while. Will need to start looking for forwards, small defenders and rucks.
just came a little thinking about injecting SPP and Swallow into our team next year
