not very well :-(
We traded pick 17 for a contracted Redden last year . Redden had shown much more at afl level than acres .see your point and the only way i see us parting with acres would be for a late first early 2nd
i love lamb, but its hard to place what our recruiters think

Hey sorry if i'm a little clueless, but I was just wondering why Acres was being mentioned? Is there any reason to think he might be interested in returning home? Or all just speculation?
We traded pick 17 for a contracted Redden last year . Redden had shown much more at afl level than acres .
The fact that he can't cement a spot in a bottom 6 team in his 3rd year shows their is issues .
Can't see how he is worth a late first or even early second .
Acres may have potential to be a good player in the future but so does lamb and I doubt we would even get a second for lamb .
Potential only goes so far and I think the fact you want to offload acres contracted or not mean he may end up being a bust a good VFL player at best .
like lamb is to us acres is worth more to the club than he is on the trade table .what you say is a fair assessment and i cant say i disagree with it, but i dont think the saints would trade him for that given the loss in return on a pick 19 selection. we would pretty much be better off backing yourself in to improve his football rather than throw him away for loose change
it wasnt my intention to say "nah he's worth pick 17" more "we would want that if we were to consider trading him even if we both know his output to date isnt worth that", if that kind of makes sense in my pretty badly worded response?

You guys don't have a second rounder this and I could see why you wwould want to offload a player as the draft looks pretty even from picks 20-40 and there is a high chance to get a gem in the second round this year more than most .
Unlike last year where any pick over 20 was easy for recruiters to trade this year they will place much more value on them . No more pick 25 s for melkshim
I agree on all your points on acres except value . He Is worth only what a team is willing to pay .i can understand that. i'm a big advocate on lamb and would love him at the saints. however, lamb is not at the same market value as acres IMO
acres was a pick 19 player compared to lamb who was taken at pick 32. acres has also played a lot more senior football and i dare say has a better form line in the VFL having followed lambs progress closely, albeit slightly different players in that lamb is better in a KPF role than acres, but acres performs better in the midfield. lamb is out of contract, whilst acres is still wrapped up in a contract for another 2 seasons.
but i agree with you, there is no use in the eagles trading out lamb for loose change, like there is no use in the saints doing the same for a contracted player
agree on the draft depth this year

Freo don't have a 2nd rounder and we would only trade a high pick for a best 22 player . He is worth more than lamb for sure but I don't see anyone putting up what he is worth to you .
Theoretically if gaff wanted to go to saints which I don't want at all would your 1st+acres be fair ?
Defacto don't you have quite a few young inside mids ? Armitage Steven Dunston Weller Ross all in your best 22 .
If it's a size issue why isn't acres playing and learning as an on baller in the vfl instead of as a flanker ?:
You have had the poor timing to rebuild through the compromised drafts . We have a big hole in our list as well in that age bracket Our 2012-13 drafts were pathetic lucky we had a couple of good trades and we did get Hutchins .he does play on the ball in the VFL but when called up seems to play on the outside
we have a few young inside mids, but they arent firing until the game is lost
Yeah but we have Nelson / Duggan / Mutimer / Partington / Cole / Adamson / Waterman ?? that could all come on with opportunity, you cant keep drafting midfielders..... Goodard would be a key signing that would help our midfielders, you could play Lycett as a forward.
Adding to the youth i named we also have Redden / Sheed / Hutchings / Masten and Yeo that are young and will be around for a while. If we keep stockpiling midfielders then a percentage will end up playing reserves WAFL.
^^
I'm referring to Ruckman this draft not KPP , could be an opportunity to secure Goddard at # 12-15 this draft .....an opportunity for us at that range , just need to develop those midfielders as some of them have talent and Redden needs to step up hopefully .
Open your mouth and get your stomach muscles readyI'll Vomit if we go after Howlett .....

Brad Crouch anyone?
brad is a gun but injury prone.Thought the Crouch brothers were meant to be guns? They seem to be in and out of the side quite a bit.
