The only thing with this is rocket has history of getting offside with certain players and once it happens it's very hard to get back on his good side. For my mind he is easily the most targetable player for us. No home state advantage/disadvantage, already travelling every second week. Offer him some good money and it covers at least one of our weaknesses going forwards.

I think from what I read it was that he wasn't adhering to the team defensive structures and was just purely trying to be offensive. I don't see that type of play going down well with Simmo if he did the same thing (see Bennell).

Would easily replace Lecras then! We need the talent injection, and I'm sure a preseason with Pridda would teach how to defend the space. Get it done Crazy Vozzo!

Hows Rothams contested game? I see that everyone see's him as a midfielder. His decision making and foot skills seem to be supreme but it would be nice if his contested game is also good. we really need to bring some good contested players in.

With you on the depth from WA. I was really disappointed last year with the WA options and hence happy when we went fishing in Vic and SA. Really liked what I saw at the Vic Metro game.

We may want to hold onto a couple of these as the 2017 draft is seen as even stronger (especially Vic talent). Losing 10 in one year could be destabilising. I would want to cap it at 7 so for me Ellis, McGinnity and Karpany (also as a rookie since he is contracted thru to end 2017) would work.

The thing I like about McGinnity is that he turns up and puts his name forward for selection each and every week with honest performances. If we needed to pick him this week, fine. Not anyone's first choice but I believe he would get the job done. Ellis can be on a pay as you play basis so not taking up cap and adding experience and depth.

Liking the way you are shaping our picks. I think we will have 7 spots to fill and why not fill our boots with local talent. Agree with many of your suggestions - here is my input

1st Round - we want something really elite
SPS: the most dazzling prospect in the draft and doubt we will have to lose something seriously good to get a top 2-3 pick. That may be a Gaff going or selling our 2017 1st rounder.
If we are picking positions 10 to 18, then in this order
- Josh Rotham: elite in his kicking, his decision making and his reading of the ball. Has skills that Hawthorn highly value
- Will Brodie: inside/outside mid who wins his own ball and kits targets. Got an early leg injury in the WA game - showed his upside in the Vic Metro game
- SPP: elite as someone that imposes himself on the game and provides the physicality we are missing

2nd Round
Whilst this year has an abundance of good mids, the talls will be taken earlier because there are slip pickings
- Luke Strnadica: will be the person to take over from JK. Hoped his 2016 Colts form would see him slip but he is delivering in the carnival.
- Jeremy Goddard: expecting him to go in the 20's and he will be ready in 2 to 3 years.

3rd Round
Possibly 3 to get as I think a Lamb trade and Brown compo may be likely
- Bailey Banfield: he should be around the mark and has great midfield attributes that sees him consistently dominate (loves playing in the guts)
- Cam Zurhaar: big bodied mid that can go forward and impact on the scoreboard
- Jake Waterman: expect him at this range as we will get F/S discount
- Shai Bolton: fast, skilled, moves through traffic and stays on his feet at clearances and when tackled. Light so may start off as outside or even small forward
- Matt Guelfi: does a lot of things really well and manages to be at the right place right time. Like Bolton - reads the centre square clearances

4th to Rookie
Zac Fischer: small forward option
Aiden Clarke: HBF with great vision (quarterback style set up)
Brad Fullgrabe: tall target with strong hands - more FF than CHF at this stage
