Trade: Shultz for A.Thomson

We all know port offered a 2nd rounder for Shultz last year. A Thomson is currently out of favour with coach Mark Williams. I believe he would be a better recruit than Prismall and would not cost as much. He is a hard at it midfielder who is a fantastic clearance player.

Struggles to pick up many disposals though. KPP's have higher trade value then small mids.

Also you have ask why isn't he getting a game at Port. Their midfield has droppped a few gears from last year.

I like Adam Thomson. I think we might need a bit more in return for Schulz though. Also, the problem with Thomson is that he can sometimes turn the ball over too often.

I'd rather Schulz than Thomson at the moment.

agreed , no sense in giving away players, both sarge and pettifer could be effectively used in a trade such as Pettifer+our R3 for a R2 selection...similarly with sarge. There's no point in securing fringe mids when we have 4 or 5 already in the wings

I agree most heartily (as I've posted before). Would take that trade in a heartbeat.

Port fans rate him (Thomson) high, but he's out of favour with the coach for some reason.

Schulz HAS to go this year. Waste of time and space. Not a senior AFL Player. Never has been.

Although we have had a few dud picks around 5-15 with Schultz, Pettifer and Meyer

sarg is having a better year this year than he did last year.
unless we get ports 2nd round pick i wouldnt trade him, he has been ok this year & gives us depth , flexability.
we have other players that are worse than sarge.
