Who do we wanna chase and who do we offer to get what we want?

I tink we should definetly chase Stinga and Carr. Mabe have a look at a guy like Armsrong or even hay if the prioce is right.

WHo to trade this is a litle tougher, the only guys we've got that will be worth mucha re Woods, Simmonds and Grover i think.

ANy other ideas?

apart from the delistings which would be in another topic i belive we don't need to trade hardly anyone at all , that list is good enough to win now just need some direction

You need to trade for a tall, quick, inside, classy midfielder.

In other words, you need to trade for an Eagles midfielder :D

Simmonds to Brisbane, Hadley to Freo!

or

Tlo and Clive to Brisbane, Hadley to Freo!

the first part understandable, but please tell me you're joking with the second option

Possible chase targets would have to include:

J. Carr
T. Stenglein
H. Black
S. Armstrong
J. Hay

All those guys are out of contract at the end of the year as far as i know. Maybe not Armstrong. But i'm not sure.

You spend a lot of time on the freo board yakuza. But then again coming from the in-breeds town down in Nornalup/Walpole, it's to be expected ;)

Yeah get an original idea not what you read in the Sunday Slimes.

Wooshta lives in SA, so I guess that makes your rather scathing and unnecessary insult just a little off the mark yak.

Besides its nothing that hasn't been mentioned here before. You don't think Diggers relies on the power of his pea-brain to come up with these ideas himself do you?

Was there an articl in the Sunday Times about our trading was there.
Can someone post a link for me so i can see it or just give me the jist of what was said.

I dont get theTimes over here so yeh anything would be appreciated.

I'm always surprised when people mention a very average player in relation to recruiting a "gun" player.
They then think, "woops", a dud like ******* will never be enough to tempt XYZ club. So lets offer ******* AND *******, 2 duds, to XYZ club to get that "gun" player.

Why on earth would any club accept that come trade time?

Why on earth would any club accept EVEN 10 dud players for a "gun" player?

To trade for a "gun" player, you must offer quality, to get quality.

Port has already proved that come trade time

Not often I agree with you but this is one such moment.
Freo obviously realise this my fear is we trade too much for him like the headland deal.
We have a developing young list and believe it or not a midfield that could win us a premireship.
My gut feeling is it would be Simmonds and something else for Carr.
How old is carr by the way?

Simmonds just signed a new 2 year contract so he can't be traded :D

Typical weagles supporter, knows nothing. You have to have them under contract to be able to trade them - otherwise they are free agents and can go into the draft.

FreoBulldog, I don't know where your info comes from, but it sure as hell aint the AFL.

If a player is under contract, he can be traded, if he agrees with the trade, he can be delisted, if he is paid out his contract, and he is free to enter the draft pool

If a player is not under contract, he can be delisted, free to enter the draft pool, he can be traded, again if he agrees to the trade.

The point of a contract favours the clubs, they decide when a player can leave, if they are under contract.
A contract benefits a player in that he knows he has to receive his agreed wages for the term of the contract, regardless of when the club wishes to dispense with his services.

Under the CBA a player cannot be traded until he serves the first year of his new contract. Its known as the 'Heffernan Rule'.

As an outsider looking in I think you need to look at off loading the following

1. Medhurst
2. Farmer
3. Headland
4. McManus

Would hate to know what you were paying those four guys!!!

P.s. You do not play Ruckman in Key positions, so maybe offload Longmuir or Simmonds. Would be worth heaps on the market.

Who do you think Ablett Jr will go to? Sorry I'm basing my Geelong trades on the same media beat up as you.

I'd keep Medhurst and Headland, they have some great talent in them but they get too cocky most of the time. That's why this year should be a real boost for their skills...hopefully.

Simmonds would be a great CHF but may become useless as we progress, leave Jlo coz He's great all over the ground.
