I know it's early and that sort of thing but I was reading a trade thread on the draft board and it got me thinking about which players I'd like at West Coast at the end of the year.

Strangely enough the 2 names that came to my head where Richmond players: Kane Johnson and Mark Coughlan.

Would you like either player traded at the end of the year? If so, what would you be looking for?

I'd take him but I don't think the Eagles would considering his age. That's a shame IMO as I don't think picking up older players is a bad thing, if they come on the cheap.

I know a lot of Richmond fans don't like him (that's why I asked) but I think he'd fit in well at West Coast as a lesser midfielder.

Its only madtiger that dosent like him.

I for one think hes a great player. I wouldnt trade him.

You can have Coughlan however.

Coughlan, Brown, Krak are definately out of contract.

Knobel + Gas will be. Kent is?

McGuane, Moore, Jackson, Hartigan? All our draftees from last year (JON/Hughes, etc)

The big 4 out of contract are Pavlich, Reiwoldt, Judd and Dal Santo. And i'd probably take them in that order. Then of course most 2nd year players are out of contract (Murphy's year).

Neither trade would work for the Eagles.

We need Seaby because he's the only other ruckman we have on the main list but I can appreciate that the tigers would want a ruck.

Sammy Butler will be a gun. At the moment he's having trouble with a groin injury (which most people seems like OP at this stage) but he'll come good and play as well as Kane Johnson in the future. There's no way we'd trade a 21 year old player for a 29 year old player.

The only player on our current list over the age of 26 with serious trade value is Joel Bowden. He would glean two first round draft picks, at least one of which would be Top 10.

But with the career of Nathan Brown in doubt, are we courageous(or maybe stupid?) enough to offload the one decent senior player that could play a decisive role in taking us to the ultimate success in three or four years time.

The likes of Hyde, Tivendale, Hall, Krakuoer and Pettifer all have varying degrees of dispensibilty, and all should have reasonable enough currency that would reap us some decent draft picks. Maybe not all offload of them at once, but we could probably lose three of them without too much anxiety.
