some people have lost the plot on this forum. Idiots willing to trade players and 1st/2nd round draft picks are the same clueless people at Eagles home games that just bleat "kick it!!" when we have the ball. If we give up more than a 3rd rounder for MItchell and Eagles fans are saying its a win they will be added straight to ignore list for their stupidity. Are you SERIOUSLY advocating spending our first rounder on a 34 year old player for a best case scenario of 2 seasons?
Jesus Christ. 3rd rounder Maximum.
Same as me.

This still a thing?

Not to mention that after this year our first rounder will have gone to a midfielder in all of the last four years. The idea from some people around here that our coaching staff doesn't know that our midfield is our weakness or that we haven't been trying to improve it is nonsense.
It's interesting, we aren't giving ourselves much time to do this given I've just read that Mitchell hasn't even been to the club yet.
Vozzo says that we still want to do a medical once he gets back from a holiday from New Zealand, so unless he gets back within the next few days I would expect this deal to only be made on the last day or two of trade period.
Medical is just due diligence and won't stop negotiations. A deal can easily be agreed to subject to a medical being done. It's interesting, we aren't giving ourselves much time to do this given I've just read that Mitchell hasn't even been to the club yet.

Lets not get carried away now...Lock me in for Petrie too. He's serviceable as a ruck, and more importantly is a goal kicker.
S.Mitchell in our 22 is better than Hutchings in our 22.

Kim Hagdorn is in broken clock territoryVozzo and Kim Hagdorn have turned there careers around overnight ....amazing
Arguable that Snadden is a pure mid, but regardless, I don't think it should be considered unusual that midfielders are recruited more than other positions. The vast majority of players you recruit should be able to play there given there's only a handful of key position slots on field.Yeah I looked at our recruits over last 3 years and posted in the old draft thread:
X. Ellis (def/mid)
Yeo (mid/utility)
Sheed (mid)
Karpany (mid/fwd)
Barrass (def)
Main (mid)
Maginness (mid)
Powell (def)
Lamb (fwd/mid)
Duggan (mid)
Nelson (mid/def)
Cavka (mid)
Waterman (mid)
Lucas (mid)
Brophy (def/utility)
Adamson (def/utility)
Redden (mid)
Jetta (mid)
Giles (ruck)
Partington (mid)
Cole (def/mid)
Mutimer (mid)
Allen (fwd)
Snadden (mid)
Of the 24 players we've recruited, 14 are what I'd say pure midfielders or at least recruited to fill that role. Yeo been swung around a bit, Nelson playing def a bit as well, but we see their best footy as being in the guts.
I'd argue that another 4 could be played through midfield - Ellis, Karpany, Lamb, Cole.
So 6 of our recruits over 3 years have been non-mids (assuming Brophy and Adamson are more defenders) which is fairly balanced, but certainly shows the focus has been in the right areas.
He could have a medical in Victoria if required. The only thing he'd need to do in Perth is tour the club which he has best mate Simmo to tell him how cool it is.

Lock me in for Petrie too. He's serviceable as a ruck, and more importantly is a goal kicker.
Strong draft, missing out on potentially adding a 10 year player to our list.
OR add a 34 year old for one season so he can join the boys club on the coaching panel.
Frankly i'm surprised people are so erect by the idea.
