We really have missed the boat with the GWS fire sale this year. Good thing we got in on the Hawthorn one.

Not just this year mate!

What other clubs haven't raided quality players* from one of the expansion clubs now, at some point in the last few years?

Crows and Lions are the only other club I can think of. Swans if you ignore that they're focused on rorting their own academy system and were banned from trading. Everyone is getting something except us :(

*sorry Tunbridge

You sound like a jerk.

Bayok can play. As can Ryan. The results only confirm they have some athletic talent to work with, which most clubs knew.

Well that's mature, of course they can play that's why they are there. That's the process. If recruiters can't work out if a player has athletic talent by watching them play then they ain't very bright.
But each to his own and good for you if you get excited about how high some kid can jump or how fast they can run, I would rather know how many times they can hit a target by foot or hand. But that's just me.

Blues. Out Tuohy p45. In Duggan p38
Cats. Out Vardy p38. In Tuohy p54
Eagles. Out Duggan p54. In Vardy p45

Trade suggestion from the Blues board, sheesh.

They have a real hard on for Duggan over there in general. A lot of trades to get Gibbs are:

WCE -> M.Mcgovern
Adelaide -> Gibbs
Carlton -> Adelaides first pick (13) and Duggan

TBF it's mostly the Melbourne clubs. And a few of them have coughed up good picks in return. But most recently it's just been bloody ridiculous

:rainbow: Alternate GWS Draft and Trade History! :rainbow:

2014 National Draft
Pick 4 - Jordan De Goey
Pick 6 - Peter Wright
Pick 7 - Liam Duggan

2015 Trade Period
2015 Pick 20 (Brayden Fiorini) and 2016 Pick 3 (on traded for Andrew McGrath) from Fremantle in return for Cameron McCarthy

2017
Profit?

It might be just me on the eagles side of things, but I would do this in a heartbeat.

McGovern easily best 22 for us and makes our fwd line scary good.

Duggan borderline best 22 at this stage and really needing to step up this year to prove his value as a high draft pick (yes I know he has had injuries, but you can only judge by runs on the board).

Lol stupid fb rumour I saw just then was jd to blues, Gibbs to crows and Gov Jr to us.

Not the worst trade I've seen proposed
We give a guy that a plus 40 goal per year(potential to be more) for a gun kid who has played as the 4th tall. Yes I like Gov Jr but structurally we will be screwed as darling did a decent job at playing second tall. Plus I would want a bit more our way.

While I'd really like McGovern it would be silly of us to give up a midfielder for another forward.

Throw Adelaide's first pick in there and I start to consider it. Darling massively underrated
Losing Darling for Mitch McGovern is a backwards move for us.

Just sayin - it's not the worst i've seen proposed.

Barrass for Marsh and a late pick, for example.

It's something that could plausibly take place, unlike most of the crazy suggestions on here.

I would want something else thrown in for us too.

Racing-betting season is upon us and it has got me thinking. It would be pretty gutsy for clubs to trade with the currency being swapping next year's 1st round picks. Hypothetical example. Lamb and our 2017 1st round to Pies for Marsh and their 2017 1st round pick. It would be throwing down the gauntlet as to who believes most in their list for 2017.

I must be waiting for our next trade and getting impatient.

That's a poor form of trolling.

Is it though? IS it?
I'm not an advocate of it, but only way I could see benefit from it would be if we managed to get Adelaide's 13 and Mcg jr as utility tall. Bring in Adams for Mckenzie, freeing up Gov sr up forward and leaving us with pick 13, 14.

Although i'm yet to be persuaded the best move for Gov is at half fwd. Just too valuable down back.

Absolutely ridiculous. Yeah, we sure would sacrifice an up and coming star midfielder we rate highly and is still only 21 for a spare parts injury prone big man and a nine pick third round upgrade. And I thought we were bad at overrating our players.

I see this trade period as topping up for an all out flag assault next year while not compromising our future. Priority #1 has been ticked off in spectacular fashion with Mitchell for a song, now all we need is a competitive ruck and that's it. Forget the homing pigeons KPD's we don't need them. Hit the draft.
