don't know why sheed is included with priddis and redden. Yes he is on the slower side but skill wise he has the other two covered. Gun on both sides of the body and has good composure and decision making to go along with it and is a good inside/outside mid. He was pretty dissapointing against the dogs but was part of a couple of good plays. On both times he recieved the ball under pressure but instead of bombing the ball he held it a tad longer and found a target and hence releasing pressure. I think he needs to follow mitchell around this preseason and improve his evasiveness. His contested ball needs to improve as well but i think size/strength will help. Sheed kicked 10 goals last year but i thought he had a strong impact when he was forward. With more off a stronger midfield next season i want our mids (bar priddis) to go through another position. Sheed, yeo and shuey can rest forward, mitchell, duggan Gaff in a back flank. Its never been tried but i have always liked the idea of Gaff Playing on a HBF at times. He basically does it being our outlet from defence most of the time but i think he has the pace, skills and decision making to go back and play a quarter back role when needed.

post Priddis we need to have a midfield set up where we have 2 or three strong inside mids and another 4/5 mids that are good at winning their own ball but are also very good on the spread and linking up around the ground. I have liked the Prid but i hope this is his last year.

i started work at around 7, went to uni and just knocked backed a couple of glasses of wine (unfortunately no vodka to make vodka craberries) and now contemplating to walk my dog or go for a mid day nap.

If the rumours of emac getting $600k+ are true - salary dump the bloke

I love ezy - and would only want to lose him if it meant filling an absolute need - midfield class (and lots more of it) is exactly what we need.

FWIW - i'd rather 1 year from Sam Mitchell than 3 years from Jordan Lewis
Exactly, even if he does get back to some ok football he will be seriously over paid. We can get much better value from offloading him even if it's for just a late second rounder or 3rd rounder.

Mackenzie re-signed in 2013 for 4 years, He went on to have an elite year after that. he was one of best players back then and no one could foresee that he would have an ACL injury and struggle after that. If we had our time over again we would have done the same. Giving an Elite 25 year old KPD and $600 k, 4 year deal isn't uncommen.

Ahern went to North Melbourne for pick 69 but is injured until the 2018 season
Jordan Lewis going to Melbourne and I think Clarko has taken your place at the Pub
Fremantle and WB are nearing completion or finalising the deal for Hamling
Xavier Richards has spat the dummy after not agreeing on term of contract at the spent up big Swans .

Yep i'm not criticising the deal given to the guy - just making pragmatic suggestions with what to do with the cards we have now

All good. Thanks for that. Only error is I'm still at the pub

I wonder if he will get a game next year? He has done pretty well to finish thrid!
i hope so. Type of player we lack is a guy that break the lines and loves going for a dash. He has had games where he has won a bit of the ball as well. Probably his kicking is what hold him back atm. I have liking for flankers who take the game on and break zones apart and love watching guys like JJ and brodie smith. Really Hope Cole and Brophey push for selection next year. Would be nice to see wellingham do it again.

Was more getting at contested ability. Priddis and Mitchell are similar in that they rely a lot on sidesteps and footwork to make space. Against a team that floods the contest that becomes a lot harder to do. Mitchell and JOM aren't fast but they have more to them. S Mitchell will bring a lot don't get me wrong and im not against it but having both priddis and Mitchell in the same midfield is dangerous. Not saying it won't work but it's risky and we're going to need to find a plan to combat the mauling teams.
I don't think that is too much of a problem, hard at it players with good clean hands inside actually are the first line of defence against a maul imo, followed by multiple supporting runs.
