I found a video of Port's recruiting manager in action this draft period.

No joke, this is actually the first time i even remembered Port actually exists since before trade period started.

I occasionally forget Port even exists, period.

Few fans here in Perth, never on FTA TV unless they play us or the Dockers, mediocre at best for all but one season since 119.

More like drafting isn't an exact science, even with high draft picks.

12/28 kept with 4 traded for good value. 16/28. 57% strike rate is actually pretty good.
More like they got a return on best 22 players and the rest weren't really in future calculations! Waaay too much talent there. Looks like they're not even going to have a crack at either Perryman or Setterfield or Scheer or Mutch (they'll likely only get one of them with pick 15)., and they'll be fine. Hopper and Kennedy, guns drafted last year, have hardly been sighted.

Unless it is pick 55, then we go into 10 points of debt for next season. I'm not sure how that works though, it probably just means our first rounder is worth 10 points less which doesn't change its position.

The points are deducted from the pick in the corresponding round (in this case 2017 round 4). Don't know offhand what our 4th round pick is next year, but 10 points is likely to move it down a place or two. Should still be enough for Hodge, Burgoyne or Gibson, though.

Slightly disappointed we didn't pick up Adams. I'd assume Dogs wanted more than we'd be prepared to give up, if there was any discussion at all.

Think they probably just refused to deal once Hamling was going out the door.

Quick review - we were the equal 3rd least active team in the trade period (with Essendon) being involved in 2 transactions, behind Adelaide and Port involved in 1 transaction.

I was critical of Geelong so I figure I go over what they've done so far:

In: Tuohy, Black, Pick 24, 64, 72, 2017 2nd Rd (CARL)
Out: Kersten, Caddy, Smedts, Vardy, Pick 56, 92, 2017 1st Rd (GEEL)

Main list de-listed / Retired: Enright, Bartel

Rookies de-listed: Bates, Cornell, Delaney, Lucey, Read

So 6 out, 2 in. 4 list sports (currently) with picks 24, 38, 42, 64 (plus lower ones which can't be used atm). A replacement Kersten, and lesser replacement Enright. Vardy and Smedts not best 22 so the losses to cover are really Bartel and Caddy.

I don't think they got better this year, or next with the trade out of the first rounder.

Yep thats the only thing I could think of too. Hope Port get screwed and their slider gets picked up.
I can't remember where I read it, but Port are meant to be interested in Ryan, so he could be the player they're interested in with this pick
I think Ryan's dad would have played with Paddy Ryder's dad too

Port can **** off then, Ryan is ours.

They already have Wingard.

Nothing like being rated by a coach who got sacked by Richmond, but I'd have to wait and see what Damien Drum, Michael Voss and Mark Neeld think first.

Sorry Terry if you're reading this.

Don't be silly - Terry doesn't read about football.
