on one hand i want SPP for contested work and X factor but on the other hand im turned off by his kicking and the question mark lingering of him becoming a full time mid.
Ben cousins was a hff/mid and his kicking isn't as bad as people say he has the same amount of misses as others if not less there are some shit highlight vids out there disposal wise lol

I don't think we'll take Petrie until after the draft - so we can take him in the final DFA window after the national draft (but before the rookie and pre-season drafts) or wait until the rookie draft and take him with our list pick there or in the PSD.

If he joins West Coast he will be the last player we add to our squad for 2017 imo

Based on most reports, he'll be a rookie so we will wait until rookie draft (as I dont think you can take DFA and put on rookie list).

If he nominates for the draft we can take him in the rookie draft

Can also pick him up in the PSD which I think is the most likely as it's the last opportunity to get someone onto our list

Haha, yeh I had a few beers last night, regretting it this morning. My recovery time is not what it used to be
I measure my recovery time in days and coffee's now.
It's 1pm and coffee three is going down a treat.

I don't want SPP as a full time mid tbh. Put him on the opposite half forward flank to darling, play cripps and liam ryan as genuine smalls around kennedy and mcgovern at chf/ff and you have the best forward line the club will put together in a very, very long time (maybe ever). Perfect balance imo.

I dont think we want him on our main list but we'll see.

I agree. A goalkicking bull capable of playing time in the middle. Sign him up. Hopefully his life before east perth took him in doesnt strike him off our watch list

Yep, as I've dribbled on a bit in other threads, our smaller forwards aren't effective enough at having an impact in stoppages, so replacing a Hill, Cripps or Le Cras with Salt n Pepa will make a huge difference to our overall balance.

He's going to help lock the ball in the F50, kick a goal a game, and provide another legitimate midfield rotation option.

cripps is fine. Hill and lecras need to be replaced.

yeah maybe. I don't think either Cripps or Hill are irreplaceable but Cripps is 3 years younger so probably has more upside.

I think Lecras will replace himself through retirement, but as far as small forwards go he is elite. It's his work up the ground that disappeared this year.

Cripps's work up the ground isn't as effective as someone like SPP (big assumption, I know), and his ability as a small forward will never come close to Le Cras or a specialist crumber like Ryan (again, assumptions).

So IMO he is a bit of a tweener in terms of what role he offers. I think he needs some midfield or wing minutes to develop that capacity.

Hill's overhead marking is good considering his other ability to snag opportunistic goals. Again though, his ability/weaknesses make his role vague and he doesn't really meet the standard for a marking target, a crumbing forward, or a high half forward.

Leaves brown as the only uncontracted player now

Delisting McInnes so we can rookie list him is the only way we can create another main list spot now
