Here is a list of players I would target at trade week.

A * denotes particular interest.

Adelaide:
Simon Goodwin *
Brett Burton *
Matthew Bode *
Robert Shirley

Brisbane:
Daniel Bradshaw *
Shane Morrisson

Carlton:
Lance Whitnall *

Collingwood:
Shane O'bree
Mark McGough

Essendon:
Dean Solomon *
Dean Rioli *
Shane Harvey *
Damien Peverill *
Mark Bolton
Danny Jacobs

Fremantle:
Trent Croad
Jeff Farmer

Geelong:
James Bartel
David Spriggs

Hawthorn:
Richard Vandenberg *
Steven Greene *

Kangaroos:
David Teague

Port Adelaide:
Brent Guerra *
Stuart Dew *

Richmond:
David Rodan *

StKilda
Stephen Milne

Sydney:
Nothing.

West Coast:
Damien Adkins

Bulldogs:
Jordan McMahon

Most of the players without a star next to their name I would only take if they came fairly cheap. So that probably rules out Jacobs, Croad and Milne.

One of these stars:
Nick Stevens *
Nathan Brown
Robert Murphy *

The rest:
Daniel Bradshaw
Heath Scotland
Mark McGough *
Dylan Smith
Jeff Farmer *
Laurence Angwin *
Luke Brennan
Brent Reilly
Danny Jacobs
James Bartel *
David Rodan *

I'd be happy to finish with Stevens and Rodan.

Bradshaw from Brisbane sounds interesting. He is a good player who can play forward or back and is experienced. I wouldn't mind making a fair offer for him.

Farmer would be good for some excitement again, maybe wheatley and pick 20 or Luke Williams.
Solomon would be a ripper but it's hard to see him leaving.
Robert Murphy has signed, Nick Stevens is probably a better prospect than Nathan Brown in terms of value for money so I'd go with him for the Dees.
Give them pick 5 and maybe Chris Lamb, I heard a few Port supporters keen for a tall defender.
I don't mind Bartel, McGough, Rodan and Smith and can't see why we can't snare one or two of those guys.
Offer up Luke Williams or a similar weaker bodied type and we'll get one of those younger boys.
Reilly will stay at the Crows, nothing surer.
Forget about Milne, Croad at a reduced price could be useful in the backline and Jacons may attract our interest as another Bizzell like defender.

He wont go anywhere. He's here to stay and the club is expecting a big season from him next year. :p ;)
I wasn't doubting that he will stay at the Crows, I just thought you overstated it a little when you said the whole city loves him ;)

Hmm yeah maybe i did :p
I just meant to say that he has gotten a lot of positive feedback from the public, havent really heard anything bad about him yet. It seemed to drop off a little when he got injured... :(

Someone once said Michael Clark was a good footballer too. He hasn't done anything good yet, neither did Clark, but people said he was good.

No more comments needed here.

I want Rupert Beathers to be wearing the red and blue next year.....Ive always liked his attack on the ball his disposal lets him sometimes, but hes out of favor with the pies and could be a valueble player for us.

Players I'd like to get:

Simon Goodwin
David Rodan
Nathan Brown
Nick Stevens
Matthew Richardson (I know I will get knocked for this, but the guy is a champion)
Lance Whitnall
Trent Croad
James Bartel
Mark McGough
Daniel Bradshaw
Dean Soloman
Heath Black
Joel Bowden
Luke Power

Players I'd trade, if the right offer came up; some of these players may be unable to be traded for contractual reasons:

Steven Armstrong
Nathan Brown
Ryan Ferguson
Travis Johnstone
Chris Lamb (It pains me to write it)
James McDonald
Alastair Nicholson
Guy Rigoni
Scott Thompson
Peter Walsh
Daniel Ward
Paul Wheatley
Jeff White

Players who should/have be(en) delisted:

Daniel Breese
Dale Carson
Michael Clark
Craig Ellis
Andrew Leoncelli
Luke Molan
Gary Moorcroft

If Matthew Richardson ever puts on a Melbourne Football Club jumper I will take up supporting another sport. He is the biggest clown in the game. I'm sure we can find thousands of petulant whingers who can't kick straight, what would be need that dud for?

In order of preference

1 Daniel Bradshaw (Plays both ends brilliantly)
2 Luke Power (More likely to go to the Dogs, but they can't keep all of 'em)
3 Simon Goodwin (Gun!)
4 Dean Solomon (Has the mongrel we need)
5 Jade Rawlings (See #1, less reliable but more spectacular)
6 Danny Jacobs (A quiet achiever)
7 Jeff Farmer (Excitement machine, worth a punt)
8 Brent Guerra (Underrated)
9 David Teauge (Tough!)

Some of the players mentioned in this thread probably won't leave their clubs & others like Brown & Richarson won't want to come to Melbourne.

I can see us doing the Dylan Smith trade. Lamb & Later picks for Smith & later picks.

Bode I could see us getting.

Blokes like McGough,Bartel,Harvey,Greene & Adkins will almost certainly move on, weather all of them are picked up or not time will tell.

Hard to judge all of this.

I just hope we do the right thing for the club mate. I have this terrible feeling that we will do an outrageous trade that might land us a good player, but see us give up far too much in the process.

Danners and Cameron are dumb at this stuff. *The Bizzell trade is an exception!*

Here is my revised list in order of interest.

1. Dean Solomon
2. Simon Goodwin
3. Lance Whitnall
4. Brett Burton
5. David Rodan
6. Daniel Bradshaw
7. David Spriggs
8. Richard Vandenberg
9. Mark McGough
10. Damien Peverill
11. Matthew Bode
12. Jeff Farmer
13. Trent Croad
14. Brent Guerra
16. Shane Harvey
17. Danny Jacobs
18. James Bartel
19. Steven Greene
20. Shane O'Bree

If we can't get any of these players I don't want us to trade at all.

If we're going to trade aggressively we should do it right and try to get at least 1-2 players from the following groups with 1 CHF, 1 inside midfielder and 1 back a must.

Backs
1. Dean Solomon
2. Daniel Bradshaw
3. Danny Jacobs

CHF's
1. Lance Whitnall
2. Trent Croad

Inside MF's
1. Simon Goodwin
2. David Spriggs
3. Richard Vandenberg
4. Mark McGough
5. Damien Peverill
6. James Bartel
7. Shane O'Bree

Half forwards/inside speedsters/goalsneaks
1. Brett Burton
2. David Rodan
3. Matthew Bode
4. Jeff Farmer
5. Brent Guerra
6. Shane Harvey
7. Steven Greene
