Surely we can find a way to bundle the two picks 26 n 28 (although the latter will more than likely be ~30+ after the compensation picks used) for another early first rounder. 26 and 28 say for a 16-18 and 45-50ish pick.

Then get minor upgrades on the picks via Spangher and McKinley trades, eg. 5 spots or so in the draft order, so that we end up with roughly 4,16,~35 without actually doing anything drastic.

also using a compensation pick lets say 19 in 2012 would be brilliant because alot of players would be comming of contract after signing contacts to avoid GC and GWS

We're making a play for Jacob Surjan BUT only if Motlop isn't traded. Surjan has asked to be traded if Motlop doesn't leave (it's a long story).

Would be a great pick up :thumbsu:

Now he would be worth trading for.:thumbsu:

Very good small backman, probably one of the best 5 small back pockets in the comp.

This simply means Motlop will get traded somewhere.:(

The question is though who would want to go play for Port? Ebert is the only one that comes to mind.

Surjan is 25 and was drafted at pick 10, and is Port's VC. He had knee surgery and missed the last half of the season.
Ebert is 20 and was drafted at pick 13.

We might have to throw in a mid-draft pick to make up for the difference in quality.

Surjan > WC
Ebert + Pick 45 > Port

Just wondering if there is a chance WC would pick up Grigg in the PSD if a deal cannot be struck. I am thinking if he tells WC he is not interested in going there you wouldn't pick him up....any word on this?

It sounds as if Sam Jacobs won't play at Carlton next year. Will be either Adelaide traded (which is at a standstill at present) or go in the PSD.

Is it worth our while talking to him about a move out west? Is it worth our while talking to Adelaide about taking him for a year and then trading him to them next year?

slow start to the day just waiting for confirmation on Krak. I dont think we will have anyone coming in and likely to get our two unuseable draft picks for Mackinley and Spangher unless pick upgrades happen.

Apparently we're going to delist McKinley, Spangher and Wilkes is there is no trade done with them.

Way to pump up their currency ;)

But also, probably a good move with Spangher and Wilkes. Not sure about McKinley though.

1033: TRADE!: The Brennan-Fraser-Krackouer deal has been done in principle. I need to stress this has not been confirmed yet so these changes will not be made to our trade and draft boxes.

Here's what each club will get:
Gold Coast Suns: Jared Brennan, Josh Fraser, Brisbane's No.10 draft pick
Brisbane Lions: Gold Coast's No.5 draft pick, Collingwood's compensation pick for losing Josh Fraser
Collingwood: Andrew Krackouer

And what each club will lose:
Gold Coast Suns: Andrew Krackouer to Collingwood, pick No.5 to Brisbane
Brisbane Lions: Jared Brennan, pick No.10 to Gold Coast
Collingwood: Compensation pick received for losing Josh Fraser

At the momment I am beginging to wonder if we are at the wrong stadium or something, or whether we even sent a team to trade week? Seems awfully quiet for a team who said they would be "active" and picks were on the table etc..

Hopefully we land a couple of decent players, missing out on a Krakeour is a bit crap, but I guess with his age doesnt really fit in to our plans. But if Worsfold trully believed we would be a shot at the flag in 1-2 years like he has harped on about... then we should of grabbed him.

You obviously don't rate Ebert, that's a terrible trade.

No chance of Ebert being traded, he's going nowhere. Start forgetting about where players were drafted, its irrelevant once they're in the system. The trade would be for the mid twenty draft picks if at all.

So Brennan is worth roughly a 5 pick upgrade from 10 to 5 (plus the compo pick).

I would have thought Brisbane would prefer an additional pick say in the top 15 as opposed to an upgrade.. they must have their eye on someone at #5 cause you'd think picks #4 to #10 are somewhat up in the air.

Gee, Brisbane done well out of that trade

Really? They got a pick upgrade from 10-5. The Fraser compensation pick isn't going to be a good pick (probably third round).

And they lost Brennan who's worthy of a high pick anyway.

1125: Trade murmur: Collingwood have confirmed this morning that Leon Davis may be tempted to move to Adelaide or Perth, if a club from those cities show some interest.

1112: Trade murmur: Nathan on the email says: A strong chance that Geelong will trade Joel Corey and Matthew Stokes to West Coast for pick 4 to free up some more salary cap.

Yeah, I think so, Brennan is very up and down, plus getting on in age.

If the Dogs/Blues are interested in Benny Mac, surely himself and pick 28 would be enough for their first pick 18/22.

After all McKinley is a goal kicker, hes just lazy

A "has been" and a "drug trafficker" to eagles for pick #4.... Ouch

Does this person realise we would have to agree to do this? Geelong can't just say you WILL have these two players for pick 4.
