Trades- Round 3

Ok really need help making a decision on this. Should I go waters to deledio or waters to McKernan and save to upgrade to another premium midfielder like Boyd or Bartel. And then upgrade a defender later.

I've already got Goddard, grimes, enright, Gibbs as premium defenders
I would downgrade Waters.

Deledio + Rookie mid = 90 + 60 = 150
Mckernan + premium mid = 60 + 100 = 160

Only get Deledio if you think he can average 100 or as much as a Bartel, Boyd etc.

I'll put it to you in a slightly different way, that requires you to think outside the box. How would you assess these two "adjustment trades"?

Foley ----> Otten (bench-use only)
Duffield ----> Pendlebury

So who fills the hole left by Duffield is my first quesion?

Coz you get his score + Pendleburys instead of Foleys + Duffield

Which IMO is minimum 155 each week from here on in and 2 saves traded.

To get Pendlebury 115 (IMO) + Rookie less than Otten i guess. Otten i see avg around 60 before he is to be traded by most. So i need to know what rookie now gets played ahead of him on the field? to determine his scoring potential and if the trade is worth it.

Myers --->Suckling
Fyfe ---> Swan

Really want Curnow and Libba too but Myers is the only non-premium after trading whom I will have enough cash to get Swan (yes, i didn't get him at the start so sue me!). Tough choices but really want Swan.

Yeah, Suckling had an absolute blinder and an average DT scoring game first up. I wouldn't quite jump on that 'bandwagon' just yet. Not sure if he's locked himself in the team. Nick Smith could be interesting to look at though who's a bit cheaper.....

But then, as for getting Swan, just do whatever you need to get him in the team!

Liking the look of Bob Murphy's start but as always a little concerned about his ability to play 22. Looks to have been floating about halfback and being used more as a rebounder this yr. He's gonna get a lot of it plus DPP back/fwd might be handy one day. Took a punt on Easton Wood and will wait to see tomorrow/friday but also tossing up Carazzo and Gram.

Funny how some in here are looking to offload guys like Duffield and all i can think of is how to structure things to pick him up in a few weeks time if he has another lowey. Might forget Murphy et al and see it Duffield gets cheap. Zero interest in Suckling tho he does now looks secure and with a set role which means he cant be a bad target to think about.

The only penny dreadful i didnt grab was Curnow....got the rest of the good ones. Idiot to pick up Foley but he wont go down anyway so might just pick up Curnow as well as Murphy down back and see how Mckernan goes this week. Couple of "wtf did i buy him for" gumby's on the list as always but nothing much needed.

Foley is out of my team for Curnow. Unique trade that one.

My biggest decision is with my 2nd trade... I Smith. Should i swap him out as a forward and bring in Tapscott or as a mid in bring in Libba? Have got Grimes and Sylvia, and Gilbee and Higgins. So will be bumping up to 3 players from same team either way, and they both have byes in the next 2 weeks.

I just know which ever way i go it will be the wrong one. Could it even be safer to go Libba and Tapscott and leave out Curnow due to him having the least job security out of the 3? But Carlton don't have a bye for ages and Ive only got Gibbs from them in my team.

Will be going over the scenarios all day at work tomorrow :D

pissing me off: goddard, montagna and broughton. played premium prices, getting very avg scores... realistically wont trade any of em tho.

gone: foley for either curnow or heppel.

curnow: pros- scoring well(100+), will make alot of cash if he keeps his spot. possibly my m6(instead of harris)
cons- job security
heppel: pros- scoring pretty solidly(75-80) will make a fair bit of cash. creates a dp link for me between M/D with hibberd. ability to play as my D7(should score more than duigan/stanley) playing a good role off half back, should keep his spot in the side barring injury.
cons- $40k more, will make less money than curnow(if curnow keeps his spot)

thoughts?

anyone got an opinion?

I would go Foley to Curnow. I have confidence he will keep his spot.
Don't trade Broughton and definitely don't trade Montagna or Goddard

Good summary on both players. Do you want either of them to be long term M6 or D7, Or is your goal to make some quick cash?

I'd think the answer to that question would sway your decision.

no i dont want either to be long term, but heppel in the backline scoring say 75 vs duigan/stanley 60, will be 15 points over probably 8 rounds, until i complete my team (possibly longer) netting me 120+ extra points + the added bonus of dp which could well save me a donut pushing it up to 200 pts. on the flip side curnow will gain close to 100k more than heppel(taking into account lower starting price and say 90 avg) that extra 100k i can use in the second half of the season to upgrade a player by 100k, netting roughly 25 pts per game more than the upgraded player. 25x11 = 250 pts. but curnow could be dropped for ellard/lucas/mclean looking to push into the blues midfield and may never make this extra 100k. also ill add that i rekon curnow might avg 5 ppg more than harris in M6 if he keeps his form up, giving curnow a bonus 40 or so pts. another donut covered by heppel makes things very interesting, so much so that i think it could happen and could place both there usefulness as trade in targets to my squad as fairly equal.

what to do? does my analysis seem flawed? its only rough, but i think it seems like a good guide. but im still undecided obviously, leaning towards curnow tho.

BRAD GREEN guys .. what do you think? .. couple of poor scoring games and his BE is 160+ so will def. lose out .. hold on to him or trade out? to who? .. got the same forward line as Dr DT haha

I've got a bit of a dilemma. I'm planning on doing a double trade to pick up a couple of cash cows, but I don't know which one.

My first trade will be Atley -> Libba/Curnow. At this stage I'm leaning toward Libba. Good choice? Who has the better job security?

Then I have a few options.

1. Gamble -> Tapscott. This leaves me with $105k

2. Gamble -> Prestia. This leaves me with $74k

3. Hurley -> Dawes. This leaves me with $29k

4. Duffield -> Enright. This leaves me with $27k

I'm leaning towards option 1 since it leaves me with the most cash, and Tapscott will increase the most after the price rise (?). But the other 3 have merit I think.
So, which would be the best option?

SIDEBAR: Yes I know picking Gamble and Hurley weren't the best choices to begin with but hey we all make mistakes.

no i dont want either to be long term, but........

I think your analysis IS a good guide and have come to much the same conclusions.

My situation is slightly different in that I'm considering Curnow in for Hibberd. To do this I would use the DP to put Heppel in defence and therefore have been considering if he will make a good D8 and thus essentially a keeper as he seems capable of playing most weeks. Long term a 75, as you suggest, for an emergency is not a bad result.

Curnow's job security is also of concern to me, but clearly he is going to make 100k+ in quick time. So for me I have the luxury to have both at this stage.

For your situation, I don't think it is clear cut and the arguments for either choice are valid. For what it is worth, I think that if you are looking at a further upgrade for whichever player you choose, then Curnow is going to generate more cash and thus more flexiblity in the long run.

Depending on byes etc, probably D.Stanley or M. Duigan, maybe even A.Otten could get a run on the field if he ramps it up.

I cant see any of them avg alot more than 60. I can see Foley avg 20 more than them until traded out from here on in.

Having said that Pendles IMO is about 30-35 points better than Duffield. So you probably grabbing 10-15 extra points a week with worse job security (foley is lock best 21 when fit, as he is now) and also using 2 trades.

Also im guessing you already have Swan and Krakouer so adding another magpie is extra risk. Read below.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/110993/default.aspx

Also you aren't limiting any byes or possible zero rounds or rounds where you have to use a lower scoring player.

You also dont change how many keepers you have.

So you basically get (20 games left) 20 x 10-15 = 200-250 points a week with added job security problems and using 2 trades. 200-250/2 = 100-125 points made per trade. That really isnt going to get you too far IMO.

But who am i to say, i know nothing supposedly.

Really ripping my hair out right now. I need some advice bad.

1. Yarran to O'Keefe.
or
2. Yarran to Dawes & $125,000.

Hey guys,

I have decided to trade Conca out and Curnow in, gain a nice 45k aswell:)

I am thinking of also trading Atley out for Libba?

Is it worth the extra trade do you reckon?

Libba is gonna make some nice cash and he scores well.

Keep Yaran, you picked him for a reason. Had a good score last week.

O'Keefe may continue to score well but his body may struggle as the season wears on.

Not convinced on Dawes long term.

Considering trading Hibberd out for a player then back in in 4 weeks or so when a midfield rookie has peaked. Two trades should net me at least $200,000 though which means I'd need the rookie to reach $300,000 which is a reasonably difficult task. That's an average of around 70 but I'm unsure how many games they would take from around $95,000 to reach that value, anybody how a rough answer?

I was thinking:

Astbury for n.lower (I know it's stupid I don't have him already)

And then upgrading d.Martin for r. Griffwn/Burgoyne

Thoughts?

Im thinking of doing Atley > Curnow...

but I also want liber.

What do people think of Bewick > Liber?

Likely more upside in Liber one would think. Bewick will have a price rise, but with the lions travelling the way they are...

I think im convincing myself
