I know it's a bit late, but yesterday I went to see the boys train. And it turned out to be one of the most boring sessions I've been to! :p

About 15 or so boys came out, just about on time for once, and did their warm up stretches and some running drills, followed on by a 15 - 20 minute running exercise. I noticed that Ben Hudson looked to be struggling a little bit, and Ayresy and Paul Haines were urging Ben on, as the boys ran in small groups of about 2 or 3 (or even by themselves).

Roo looked bloody good during this exercise and I can't wait to see that cast off of his arm!

After this, they ran around the stadium and back again, before they had a rest. They then did the beep test, and a few standouts were: Stiffy, Roo and Schuback. Matthew Smith didn't look too bad either.

Next, was some more stretches and then the small group practised their goal kicking from set shots. Roo didn't kick too badly with his left foot!

While this was happening, another group of about 14 or so, came out and did their stretches before they too, practised goal kicking.

A few players who I didn't see training yesterday, were: Mark Stevens, Scott Welsh, Wayne Carey (although he did come out for about five minutes, but didn't really do anything - his body looks really good though!), Tyson Edwards and a few others.

Brett Burton came out with the later group, and did some running, before he did some ball work with Paul Haines.

So that's my report on training yesterday. Not very good, but I tried! :)

Good stuff, Scotty's_Girl. Thanks for that. One thing you did convince me of in your report is not to go down there on Thursday's. Sounds like it was pretty boring for on-lookers.

The one thing that was interesting about your report was that it clearly demonstrates once again the lack of competitive work in the training this year compared to last year. Looks like they're saving all the intensity up for when it really counts, and it's hard to disagree with that after our end of season fade last year.

:) It was extremely boring ... I almost left, but then I saw the second group of players coming out, and I decided to stay and see what they did ... but they were even more boring!

I miss the competitive work, but I guess what they are doing currently is better then someone getting injured doing a competitive drill during the pre season. That's definately not what the Crows need.

Woo Hoo!!!!!! Stiffy kicks a$$ in beep test :D

This time last year they were practically hammering each other. Glad to see us take different approach. We faded out at the most important time of the year in 2003. In 2004 we must start the season off on fire because of ourr tough draw in the first half of the season and finish strongly in september:D

Good approach in my books.;)
