Who looks more impressive out of Tommi and Jake? Who do you think we will most likely rookie?

How did Tommi's skills look? I noticed his disposal by foot and hand in the TAC cup has been around 90% effective for the last two years (very impressive).

Also how did Griggs's disposal look?

That's what i thought Bluegal1983, but the person that took the photos said it was Hampson.

But i still think it's Thornton.

The guy on the right, is Hampson, so I'm backing you bluegal1983, i also think it's Thornton :)

Hampson has black runners on in the above pic. The guy in the other pic has white runners on and it looks more like Thornton than Hampson IMO.

how much does jake look like his dad??

thanks for all the pics....

how big are some of these guys going to be after another pre season (murphy, jk, bower etc)...

is it footy season yet??

bugger it, lets just get to 2008 and really enjoy the year!

imo, i think we will take tom johnston in psd and jake williams in rookie draft. great to see them both down there

I'm really hoping we take Tommi Johnson as a rookie. He is the in and under type ball winning midfielder we need. He tackles hard and is great around the stoppages. His disposal by hand and foot has been 90% effective in the TAC cup for the last two years and he also kicks goals. In 2005 he averaged over 22 possesions for Sandringham as a bottom aged player and was one of their best. He also played well in that Allies vs Vics disaster in which the Vics were smashed by 100 points. He kicked a goal and won 16 posessions of which 10 were contested. This is a pretty good effort considering he had to compete against much bigger players. Currently he is very small but if he can grow he could be a very good player. I have a really good feeling about him.

Here are some comments that Johnson 36 made on him last year.

tommi is a great kid and a great footballer. he has udnerstood what he has needed to do to make the elite level due to his very skinny frame. here's his stats as far as i know and a bio on him:

Tommi Jonhnstone- Sandringham Dragons, 171 cm, 61 KG, Rover/ Ruck Rover
Tommi is a lightly framed kid that plays an in and under style of game. Goes in hard, reads the game well, has fantastic skills and has a fair amount of endurance to play on the ball. He lacks pace a little for a player of his height, but his ball winning ability and hardness at a contest make up for this issue. Capped off a fantastic bottom age year by winning the Sandy Dragons U18 best and fairest for 2005. Wont get taken this yar, but is a small chance to go f/s next year.

He is a great footballer. He plays in and under, has plenty of handballs (as his TAC 2005 stats show), but the kid has exceptional foot skills. He can win the ball etc,, which is great, the only concern is his stick frame and height. Will he be able to cope at that level? well my opniuon is that if u can dominate to the extent he did at tac, and had a good enough y7ear/ couple of years, then u should be drafted, as one potential f/s said to me a while back. I hope he gets taken after carlton give him another years chance to develop his frame in the TAC, but f/s looks like his only avenue atm. Clubs will i9gnore him at their own peril in my opinion.

Apparently he has improved his pace since then and I think he is about 177cm and 68kg now.

JK is a MONSTER!!!!!
Lookin forward to the 1st guy he takes out next year.
It's a gunna huuuurrrrt..............

You've got that right, he is massive. A couple of years down the road there will hardly be a defender in the game who will be able to shift him. The kid is only 19. How big will he be by the time he is 22-23? Exciting times ahead.

Thanks for the update! Great news about JK and Harts. Midfield is getting more exciting by the minute - Gibbs, Murph, Walker, Hammo, Simmo, JR, AB, Stevo with Ratts at the helm.

Thanks to everyone for the training reports and pics ....us interstae fans never get any news this time of year ..and so forums like this are great ! :thumbsu:

ps : Walker is gonna play havoc next year ;)

Great work on the training reports.Much appreciated.Keep them coming. The photo of Kennedy brang a tear to my eye and a lump in my throat. Also good to hear that Hartlett is on the track.

Yeah, looks exactly like him. However, he looks a lot taller than I remember - AFAIK, Hartlett is taller than him, doesn't look so in that picture. Maybe he's grown (or Hartlett's shrunk:cool: ).

Pictures can be deceiving. Hartletts body is half bent and in reality there are only 3 or so centimetres between them.

Is it just me or does Saddo have a HUGE stomach.....
hopefully we don't need him this year and we can piss him off at the end of the season when his contract expires. unfortunately he is very soft and slow.
