From Nicks:
Went down and watched about 45 mins of training this morning. Nothing much to report. As far I could tell there weren’t any draft picks or rookies out there which was a bit disappointing, as that was the reason I went down there (there was one blond kid I couldn’t recognise). No Reid or Tazza. Brown and Josh Thomas were on the sidelines doing handball drills, Swanny left track early and Sharrod stopped training to walk laps of the boundary. Swanny reminds me of myself, not his ability or skill, just his lackadaisical approach to training. Drills that I saw were mainly “keepings off” in a confined space and goal kicking.

Everyone was ‘flying”, just joking, I always have a laugh when track watchers report who looks good at training, everyone always look good at training, (except Shae McNamara who still hasn’t made up his mind which foot he kicks with. If you are reading this Shae, based on what I saw, I would go with the left).

Seedsman has put a bit of muscle on, so now he is just skinny and not anorexic. I think this kid may get a few games this year based on what I saw in the VFL last year.

Melbourne were training on the ground right next to the Pies and Neil Craig wandered over and had a chat with Ben Hart. The Deeeeees were doing a lot more pure running, whereas the Pies were mainly using the balls in their drills. I also saw Leroy and a group of Dees player having a good look at the pies training.

God I love Pebbles, in one drill he was had a heavy tackle bag and was supposed to be hitting players with it and Darren Jolly was giving him a serious pounding from behind when pebs wasn’t watching but Pebs didn’t even flinch and just kept about his work of trying to get to the next player. Jolly was pi$$ing himself.

Anyway as I said not much you can tell from training, maybe someone else can add some more details, mind you there weren’t many people there except for a group of “autograph/photo seeker types who yell stuff out at the players as they run past”, if you get my drift.

"I was wondering if anyone went down."

Geez, training drills sure have changed since my day.:p

Looks like the rookies weren't training because they were at the AFL orientation day at Etihad.
Yeah, they had Jackson Paine on the news saying he had some "Umm, media training and learned about gambling".:p

Great to see the AFLPA are teaching them how to bet so young.:p:eek:

Was good to see Heater giving up his time to induct this new batch of young draftee`s on how to place bets without being caught out by the AFL gestapo. :thumbsu:

Is there a Video of that Interview?

Does anyone know when the Pies players train next? My brother is over from Europe and can't catch a game, so is very keen to get down to Gosch's for an open session. He's not getting any love calling up the club, currently.

Thx.
