Dean has joined main training for the first time this year. They made a banner for him to run through saying “Welcome back to work” 😆

No Josh at either training session this week it seems. Hope he gets up

I know we've had a number of players miss training this season due to sniffles, but to miss the 2 main sessions suggests he's an unlikely starter. Unless, they're keeping him away from the group doing his own conditioning session indoors.

Anyway, what happened at training today?Does anyone have any reports of it?
I will have one shortly. Post training, I went to the movies with some friends. Just got home.

And some people want to respond to your answer.
Maybe we should start a "little mermaid" thread. 😁
I have to take my 5 year old girl to see it.
Haha
She'll enjoy it.

Okay, back to training... I'll sort this update lol :P

So did Lipinski complete the full training session?

By earlier reports it appears that McStay and Elliott didn't.

So are we keeping Melbourne guessing or is that an indication they'll both be given until after the bye?

Training: Saturday June 10th. Round 13 v Dees.

The boys had already started warming up at 9am, when I arrived, so I reckon they began about 8:50am, I missed Dean's celebration when they got to the track.

It was a pretty full deck. Those that weren't there was.

  • Josh Daicos

Jamie & McStay did the drills, but not match sim. But they did everything else though. Not sure what this says. They looked fine.

Beau, Cox, Maynard and Nick trained well. Surprised at how much Beau did given his ankle, but yeah, looked alright out there.

Dean had his first running session. So nice to see him out there starting his recovery.

Richards was the other who was doing a running session with Jamie and Mcstay. He is one more week, post bye until he is able to play again.

Squad was split into teams.

Blacks;

  • Crisp
  • Noble
  • Ginni
  • Moore
  • Maynard
  • Lippa
  • IQ
  • Harrison
  • Nick D
  • Pendles
  • Mitchell
  • Hill
  • Checkers
  • Johnson
  • Adams
  • McStay
  • WHE
  • Cameron
  • Frampton
  • Cox
  • + VFL player

Whites

  • Kelly
  • Macrae
  • Jamie
  • Murphy
  • Wilson
  • Allan
  • Draper
  • Ryan
  • Kreuger
  • Steene
  • Begg
  • Reef
  • Murley
  • Carmichael
  • Howe
  • Ruscoe
  • Markov (during match sim)
  • Beau (during match sim)

We had some boys from the VFL team participate as well, help up the numbers.

Half way through once match sim was done, those in white went inside, bar a few, who then put on a black jumper, so everyone that was left outside were wearing black. Meaning you could not tell what was going on selection wise.

Those that were left:

Lippa
IQ
Maynard
Jamie
Mitchell
Bianco
Noble
Pendles
Mcstay
Adams
Cameron
Frampton
Macrae
Hill
Crisp
Reef
Murphy
Moore
Beau
WHE
Ginni
Nick D
Harrison
Markov
Howe
Johnson
Checkers
Carmichael
Cox

You can take Howe from this list.
Reckon the emergencies will be reef, Macrae, Carmichael and Bianco (unless Josh doesnt play then he may replace him)

This group did a power of work for the rest of the session. Ball movement. Drills.

The session then ended at 10:30

You'd think McStay would have to participate in the match sim if he was playing given the nature of the injury he's recovered from.

Got to make sure with that hand of his he can hold his marks and handle the ground ball under match like pressure.

With Johnson, McCreery and WHE all seemingly over their injury scare I'm leaning towards neither of them playing but hey perhaps that's exactly what they want us all to think.:drunk:

Outside of potentially short term illness (like Josh) I'm assuming it would be uncommon for a player to not participate in match sim to only then play but Jen is the one best placed to answer.

Coming off injury I’d say yes it would be unusual.
