Hopefully not! No idea if he’s up to it, but v the Suns up there is not when I’d like to find out. Fingers and toes crossed Mitchell gets up.
Yeah, people seem to thing the Suns are still a basket case without remembering they have Rowell and Anderson running around in their midfield. We’re fortunate Miller is still out for this game.
I’d be inclined to think that Pendles and Crisp get more midfield time rather than Macrae being pulled in to the 22.

I'd be very worried if i was fin if he cant get a game without de goey and mitchell, and they rather swap the magnets around.
This is his perfect opportuniity.
Pendles been playing purely mid these days anyway.

Fin was playing Forward/mid today, started forward with playing midfield in stoppages and around the ground

Not sure why I’m being told to settle down over that observation. It’s not going to have a long term effect, but in the context of this weeks game it’s a big blow if he misses.
I said 'lets 'all' settle down'...not you, specifically. Ironically windchimes had just posted a tweet on another thread to reassure everyone that Mitchell's foot issue was not serious so the footage at training today didn't create any unnecessary anxiety.

They’ll name him based on the train on squad. It was also selective reporting because he didn’t go through a fitness test (that’ll be Friday) and wouldn’t have come out at all if he was in the trouble some are taking from it, but I in no way share the confidence that’ll permeate this place if Macrae gets a crack. Rowell and co will eat him alive!
Might be a great challenge for McCrae and will give us some insight on whether he’s capable of stepping up.

We have to test him against good opposition it may as well be GC.

We don’t have to do anything. We’ve got a reasonably healthy list so there are other options. I’d much rather be seeing what he’s got after almost 12 months out of the senior team against Hawthorn or Carlton later in the year with JDG and Mitchell beside him. This is the best contested ball side in the league they’re no joke.

Looking at those in black today.
Thats 8 defenders
6 forwards
6 mids (including one mid/F/def? WHE talking here, he was at HB)
2 rucks Thats not including Beau or the possible of Fin feels like too many defenders?

Lol, couple of extra defenders might be handy if Titch doesn't get up..

Titch out; Frampton in

Frampton plays on one of the Suns talls (King or Casboult)
Maynard steps out of the backline and plays in & under mid role.
Wont happen. Didnt attend any CB or do any mid stoppages. Was purely in defence from what I could see today.

I don’t know what to think of GC’s midfield. Occasionally look really good, then they go and make Carlton look like 2003 Brisbane.

I think that was an outlier against Blues. Unfortunately.

And coming off a bye. And at the G.

GC don’t travel well. At Carrara though, they’re a tough prospect, and they’re the third best clearance side in the comp. Not to be taken lightly.

For the love of God, Maynard has no idea how to play midfield. Adams will go full time mid and thats it

They are pretty one paced and had a bad one that day.

Unfortunately so are we without Jordy, unless we expect Nick to carry the day again.
Yeah true, but I was more referring to how Carlton got hold of them as they are really slow.

Suns don’t have great depth in their midfield but Witts Rowell and Anderson are A grade and Swallow and Humphrey good support
If we are without JDG Titch and Sidey those 3 A grade Suns mids could really torch us

Look forward to seeing Fin get a game this week. He has performed well in the 2’s, what’s the point of listing players if you aren’t going to give them a go when the opportunity arises.

He showed the most promising signs in that draft pool in his first year. Love his work in traffic by hand. He could teach Adams a thing or two in that regard.

I’d also rest Maynard and bring in Frampton
