I had a quick look at training today for only the second time ever. Must say I spent most of the time looking at the crowd trying to work out who was possibly from here.

As mentioned above, Jacky looked impressive, as did Petrenko, both appear to of stacked on the muscle and look in great nick.

I wasnt overly impressed with the foot skills but the breeze was very tricky, the quick snaps at goal were atrocious haha

Enjoyed having a quick look and will probably head down and have a look again at some stage if the timings work out.

Do the club put on their website training times?

Jarrhan Jacky, gun.

If he gets the confidence up at AFL level, look out. Good to see he has put a few kilos on and that he is working hard on his goal kicking. His disposal to a player's advantage has always been good though - as in the ability to deliver a ball inside 50 for a leading player to be able to get hold of without breaking stride, or to elevate the ball when he is kicking to a man behind an opposition player. Just needs to develop that core belief that he belongs at AFL level and we'll have ourselves a quality nippy midfielder/small forward.

Ok Stabby I forgot what you looked like so I kept to myself today but I know who you are now, the one with the blue jumper and evil eyes right? Cya Thursday.

Few things: I only saw Talia and Shaw there, but Gunston was on the news with them. I don't think they had even met their teammates yet! When Brodie Martin walked over he was introduced and shook their hands, he then looked to take on a bit of a leadership role and showed them around.

I spent most of the training eavesdropping on a Zac Milbank - Andrew Capel conversation, lol. My favourite quote "Nah you (Capel) go and get the jumper signed, they don't hate you like Rooch."

Capel: "Where is he?"

"Oh he's got better things to do."

Lol.

A few body changes:

-Truck's slimmed-down a bit.

-Symes looks more toned, not necessarily bigger, he just looks to be more cut.

-Jarrhan is officially now a beast. I drove past him with his shirt off about an hour after training and almost crashed into his abs.

-Pup, Tippa, Sloane, Cooky, Maric, Hendo and SMACK all looking in very good shape.

-Porsche looked a little flat.

-Nohomo.


The drill at about 11am was interesting. Each play ended in a one-on-one marking contest between either Tex/Young or SMACK/Otten (or at least I thought it was Otto, Stabby says it was Davis, why must they wear caps?). I actually found it interesting that Otto was playing as a KD but maybe not. Anyway, I'd say Tex won his contest by a fair bit and although SMACK seemed to be out of position quite a bit he still managed a few goals. He tended to skulk around in a circle rather than make a direct lead at the ball-carrier.

I took photos but they're probs not good enough to bother with.

The new cafe is pretty handy for trainings, that ice-cold Scoffee after 4hrs sleep went very nicely.

As Stabby mentioned, Knighta is becoming a fantastic leader, he was more vocal than anyone out there.

Ivan was great with the class of school kids after training, always complimenting them on their kicking and chatting to them after.

Armstrong and Petrenko are great blokes. Armstrong's funny as hell! About 20m into the post-training goal-kicking and trying to kick an impossible goal into the wind for the bulk of that time, Armstrong said "ok this is definitely my last kick, then I'm going in", then Petrenko stepped up and finally slotted it, Armstrong shouted "I HATE YOU, I'm staying out here forever now...".

Don't know what you mean about evil eyes Xztatik This is like when you said I was glaring at you again, I never get this from anyone else I was wearing a very dark blue jumper with an adidas logo on it, and shorts showing off my little girly legs.

Also, what's with everyone standing around wondering who's who but not coming and asking? I went and asked a few but after a while I got the feeling that if people don't come up and say anything, they'd probably rather be left alone so I didn't ask. Crow Girl, were you with another friend off to the left of us? I almost went and asked if you girls were from Bigfooty but after last Thursday I thought I'd end up getting arrested if I kept speaking to young girls at training I'm 6'3" and I talk a lot so if you or anyone else is at training and you see me, come up and ask if I'm from Bigfooty.

Xztatik - I won't be there this Thursday. Two times in a week is enough for me I'll probably be there Thursday week.

Also CG, I'd forgotten to mention Mackay. He didn't stand out to me last Thursday which is rare at training, but he looked the goods again today. He's just so neat, doesn't look like getting caught and always does something with the ball. Tyson Edwards Mark II, guarantee it.

Speaking of Edwards, hell the old boy can still turn it on when he needs to At one stage today he was getting chased (by Otten? I didn't quite catch who) and he switched on the afterburners and absolutely blitzed him. He doesn't look to me like he's going to be any worse in 2010 than he was in 2009.

Edit: Oh, and yes, Armstrong is hilarious He's shaved off the mo but kept the long hair, and he just loves talking crap the whole time. Speaking of talking crap, Henderson loves to let out a massive grunting "Hah-HAH!" all the time, especially when a teammate messes up. It's hard to describe the sound he makes without saying it in person but it always makes me smirk, especially as he does it with bulging eyes and a massive grin

Edit 2: Oh, and I thought it had been Otten on McKernan as well but James_37 said otherwise. When we walked around a bit closer I could see it did look like Davis' hair the odd occasions he took off the cap. I was mistaking every man and his dog for Otten so don't trust me

I went down today but not for training
went to get membership and the new away guersey, have to wait untill 21/12 and then they send it out. I want it now!!!!!!!!

I ordered those damn jumpers 2 days after they came out for my cousins for Christmas! And they told me the same thing two weeks later...

Also I was not at training today At home watching the replay of El Classico Will be going Thursday looking forward to seeing the new draftees hopefully train.

and Otten does look like Davis I feel. Before a game this year at AAMI where Otten had an injury cloud over him, and Davis was emergency, I was in the stand trying to figure if it was Otten or Davis on the field. Didnt realise it was Otten untill the final team was put up over the superscreen

We were the group that was walking around the oval. It was good to get down and meet a couple of the bf guys.

I had to luagh at armstrong. he is obviously a an epl fan as him mcleoad and petrenko were constantly juggling the ball and trying tp pass to each other wiothout picking it up, but every time he went near it it was "check it out, Im Torres"

The penny definantly seems to have droped with jacky. Maybe mcleod took him aside ala roo and goody with vince and we know how that worked out.

Xztatik it was definantly walker on davis although they are hard to tell apart.

Van Berlo has got guns he walked past early in the session it looks like he has smashed the weights.

Burton looks like he is set to move back onto a wing or foward flank. He did all of the work with the mids rather then a foward.

Apart from that there is not muc else to say that hasnt already been said, Apart from my impressive debut racking up a couple of stats when stray balls headed my way.

Well, it was tough to tell, could have been Stevo too, but he was certainly as tall as McKernan and pretty sure I saw Otten and Stevo actually working in the same group.

Certainly a pretty sedate session, besides about 10 minutes of fitness work, reckon they might have been doing a heavy weights/bike session later on in the day. Can't really add too much from what Stabby's already said, especially considering I expressed all my thoughts at training and he's gone ahead and posted them already

I guess to reiterate what's already been said, Jacky was impressive, Sellar too, Macca, Goody and McLeod look like they have done for the past 8 years. Maric was also looking the goods out there. As stabby mentioned our corralling is looking pretty decent, very few of our players managed to take on the tackler and get around.

Didn't bother taking any photos, would have just been more of the same from last thursday, would have taken some of the newbies if they'd bothered training

Oh and XztatiK was that Capel and Milbank with the jumper? We were wondering what those 2 creepy guys with the guernsey were doing.

You seriously, seriously overrated Jacky.

I don't get what you see. This hitting a leading player rubbish, when's he ever done this? Probably once and you've ran with it. Most players to have ever played footy can pull this off, me for example, I'm a gun kick to a leading player. Sign me up, I'm on a par with Jacky.
