Skills sessions again to today with a similar focus to what has been going on previously . This generally involves groups doing either kicking or handball skills and or a ball handling drill involving picking the ball up off the ground and getting a handball or kick away. Once they have worked on this for 25 minutes or so they move onto a full length of the ground drill.
I have to say they look over the slight lack of polish they showed in the first skills session last week. The ball control and speed of the full ground drill was pretty sharp.
Just on a few players , Lucas and Hislop where on running duties only due to recovery from their off season operations.
Johns was on light duties today but when he was running there didn't appear to be anything too serious wrong with him. I have to say he is looking as fit as i have ever seen him. He has dropped a bit of the bulk.
Jetta did some of the skill work and then some solid running.
To answer a few questions on players that where raised last week , Lonergan is in great shape. Houli as you would expect looks good. Winderlich the same. All three have been performing strongly on the track.
Being November it is very early on in the scheme of things but like i said the other day , it is hard to pick out who is doing the best because i have not seen one player who looks out of shape and apart from the very first skills session (which was a bit scratchy) training has been very sharp and the skills pretty good.
I may not have a report again until next Wednesday as i cant get to Friday morning's run this week and i will be at work when they are doing skills on Monday.
