Only Shaqiri could be average to maybe slightly above average his whole time at Stoke, yet land a transfer to a CL club

Dont think we would have bought him if he didn't have the relegation clause as he would have cost 25-30m easily. Capable of outstanding moments of brilliance punctuated by longer periods of being average. Should be handy as an impact sub but dont see him breaking into the first XI at all unless there is a major injury crisis like there was in midfield last season.

I don’t think it would have to be a major crisis at all. If any of the front three did get injured, I’d imagine he would be the first cab off the rank at least at this stage. Maybe if we signed Fekir that wouldn’t be the case.

Regardless, I expect Shaqiri to play a fair amount next year.

Will be interesting to see what he does in moulding your squad the way he wants too

He's not a back 3 type of manager like what Conte was, normally prefers a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1

Enjoys a smoke on the sidelines too, not sure if he'll be allowed due to OH and S ;)

Klopp said it best with the signing of Shaqiri. It's a n brainer. At 13.5 million for a footballer of his quality you just cant say no.

Will he fit in and be the right type of player for Klopp? I dont know. But I thought Ox was a shit signing and he's been outstanding so I'll back Klopp to get the best out of Shaqiri.

He gives us better depth in attacking areas and we can easily sell him at a profit if it doesnt work out. It's really a no lose situation.

embarrassing press briefing that. maybe next time you negotiate with someone like adl, you walk out with signed papers, not an 'agreement'. especially when one of your competitors is known to be negotiating for their manager.

to come out whinging cos someone muscled into the deal 'butbutbut we had an agreeeeement' is pathetic. like we've never done that to anyone else.

Reckon Juve are right up there too just quietly
I'll wait for the aftermath of the Ronaldo transfer before claiming anything but I'm happy so far.

Chelsea may make the final decision but they'll know all about Hazards capacity to down tools if things aren't going his way. You'd imagine Chelsea's best hope is that he was misquoted.

Its the same flirting hes been doing for a couple of seasons. Now Zidanes gone do they even want him that badly?

Apparently 3rd choice and will cost £200m. Fair chance he'll be staying at the Bridge.

I guess it comes down to whether he is going to do another 15/16 season with his attitude. If it looks that way best to take the £150m Real are supposedly prepared to pay and run.

Ideally you would want him signing a new deal to put all the rumours to bed.
