Since the new owners came in:

2011/12 - Europa Group Stage
2012/13 - CL QF
2013/14 - CL QF
2014/15 - CL QF
2015/16 - CL QF
2016/17 - CL R16
2017/18 - CL R16
2018/19 - CL R16

PSG are the most overrated club in Europe. Constantly spoken of as one of the top 3-4 clubs in Europe but in reality they’ve consistently demonstrated they’re somewhere in that 8th-16th bracket.

That doesn't prevent them continually being one of the favourites each season.

in fairness they've come up against barca, chelsea, barca, city, barca, madrid and united. the problem for them is they have had some absurd losses in there too, and they're usually in ties after the first leg, and it collapses in the 2nd.

Real Madrid are going big this summer. Already got Jovic, nearly certain they get Hazard and very likely to sign Eriksen. Also linked to Mbappe as well.

What's Hazard worth - say - with three years left on his contract?

Close to 200m for me, surely.

Presuming he’s on a longer term contract, I’d say only his age would prevent it from being higher than Neymar money.

But using Coutinho as a precedent, Hazard would still be “worth” around the ~£160-170m mark.

I guess it depends how far you’re willing to extend the definition of ‘favourites’.

There are at least 7-8 teams I would back to progress further than them in the CL next season. Their record in the comp suggests that’s probably a fair assessment. Leaving money out of the equation, PSG have done nothing to suggest they should be able to use ‘winning the CL’ as a drawcard to prospective signings.

When you have two of the best 5 players in the world you will always be considered a chance.

LOL this would be very Daniel Levy.

Why are United signing Daniel James? Seems like an odd signing

After younger players who can grow at the club instead of signing players past their best such as Sanchez.

I don't mind the strategy, it's whether Solskjaer gets more than a year to implement it depending on the results.

I wonder if PSG failing badly in Europe has anything to do with the lack of quality teams they normally play against, then when a good team comes it might shock them that they can't coast to a 4-0 win every week.
Definitely. Hell you could probably argue is even a factor for Bayern and Juve. IMO the best CL structure is having two-three really gun sides that means for proper competition but means enough easy games that you won't fatigue as much.

ESPN reporting Chelsea have accepted a 130m quid bid for Hazard from Real.
Will be a big loss not only for Chelsea but for the prem as a whole.

How are Real Madrid safe from FFP issues? They would have to let a lot go if they do go big, but they must be losing currency real quick as their squad is on a decline overall

daniel james having a utd medical

Hull lad. Good on him.

Shows the issue though that we lost him for nothing because he wasn't on a professional contract for us. At least we get some small sell on.

They made a few sales without really buying in recent years so I’d imagine they’d have a fair bit of room.

Daniel James medical completed.
Just waiting for united to announce him.
He is fast, will give him that. Seems like a decent value for money signing that could turn out.
