Sure just mean it's not as if ETH has a proven track record with big fees. Antony might come good, he might continue to flatter to deceive. Sancho another but that was pre-ETH.

I know what you mean but I don't agree that the price it took to secure Antony is a reflection on ETH's judgment though, that was more about the desperation from both of the clubs involved.

That fee was basically a **** off price that Ajax threw out because their season was already underway and their new coach had gone on record to say that there would be no more sales after their team had already been heavily raided. We all knew it was crazy overs but the club was desperate and Ajax really didn't want to sell.

The gap between the PL club’s spending power and the rest of the continent continues to grow every window.

A good video.
Have begrudging respect for Arsene Wenger for trying to fight the fair fight in a system of reckless spending.

At the end, certainly sums up my feelings. Can't put the genie back in the bottle... The horse has bolted etc etc.

Sold him have we?

Not quite sure the requirement for selling to know you massively overpaid for him. Can I not say similar of Maguire even though you haven't sold him yet?

Think it is fair to say based on exposed form and performances at Ajax that too much was paid.
If he has a storied career at United no one will care. If he becomes another Havertz then he will be a flop.

Spot on. I like most United fans dgaf how much was paid for him. Just more evidence of the clubs incompetence. This doesn't change the fans backing in Ten Hag.

Expected him to be better than a left footed late career coutinho though for that money.
