Bye bye Chalobah. Disasi looks so good on the ball, will be fun watching him and Colwill together.
That Orny tweet was outta nowhere. Wow. A bit to unpack here.
Arteta has clearly been a fan for a while. Tried to sign Raya as a Martinez replacement I recall. That was during Covid though so funds weren’t as freely available as they are now, especially with Arsenal’s packed squad and wage bill at the time.
Linked again the year after, but then with Brentford’s promotion his price tag was much higher and they weren’t going to sell. Ramsdale arrived instead.
I have long thought that Ramsdale needs genuine competition. Sometimes he may be too comfortable in his position knowing full well he is the clear and obvious number 1 at the club.
Turner a good shot stopper however not at the level required by Arteta in possession and distribution. And aside from Cup games, and no Europa, it’s difficult to see him getting minutes in the CL and/or premier league.
Ramsdale is prone to the random costly error. Even in the pre season matches so far. Perhaps Arteta is concerned about this and is looking to address that now. I didn’t think another GK was on the radar, however he we are.
Some sales really need to happen though. Arsenal cannot continue to invest as heavily as we are without some good exit fees to help offset these transactions.
I was hoping for Guehi but Disasi looks a beast. Plus he's like unbreakable compared to Fofana whos Mr Glass, just never gets injured. Gives us good depth at RCB.Disease is a quality CB. Was hoping we would be into him but looks like he is yours.
I think the market in general has just exploded for all positions. But yeah, we will need to wait and see about this transfer.
Yeah he popped up the other day and I think he's training with the players now, wonder what the fee is. I remember saying to you a while back it was odd it was a loan in the last year of his deal, so makes more sense as a permanent.
Not transfer news but:
Pathetic from United if he's allowed to play again.horse s**t. It's signed off by the sponsors (emphatically) and Ten Hag has been pushing for Greenwood to be allowed back. The word is that Greenwood is doing a big sit down interview about the allegations which will be put out at the same time as the announcement that he is rejoining the first team.
