Discussion continuing in Part 2 found here

Not having politicians and newspapers take every opportunity possible to discriminate them and be left alone to live their life peacefully and privately?
That kind of reminds me of the recent South Park episode on Megan and Harry.

Well that does suck, but there’s a pretty enormous event going on at the moment basically unopposed.

And you think the fact it requires an event of that size and visibility to be safe from violence isnt a thing?

Let me guess, you're "just asking questions"

And why do you think it’s at the point where this has happened? Perhaps because of the amount time and energy spent by the LGBTIQ+ community fighting for rights and acceptance?

The original event lead to massive police violence against participants.

I am not sure transactivists are fighting for privacy.

I'm quite sure they'd like privacy, but other people keep discriminating against them and using them as political click bait now the gays aren't getting as much reaction from LNP voters.

NSW Police:

During the operation (Worldpride), general duties officers will be assisted by specialist units, including the Public Order and Riot Squad, Operations Support Group, Mounted Unit, Dog Unit, PolAir, Licensing Police, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and Police Transport Command.

Seems like a lot of protection needed for an event of a group that ‘supposedly’ doesn’t face any discrimination.

Probably because Albo's going to be there :drunk:

I might be the odd one out but in all the male change rooms i have been in, men still take the effort to cover up their balls from view.

I have never been in a change room where penises are flying all over the place. I assume this would be the same for women?, thus a trans gender person would still be able to use the room they want without issue. I doubt she was standing on a bench doing the helicopter at these women.

It all seems really childish to me, like if a transgender person was using a change room i was as a male, i'd just mind my own business and let them mind theirs? Dont see the big deal with being an adult here.

People need to understand there is no black and white answer here, without segregating tans people. People need to adapt and be more understanding that we are in a new world, be an adult and just grow up.

Liked for use of the term "doing the helicopter."

That made me laugh.:D

I don't hate gay people. Actually have nothing against them one bit. My comment is solely in reference to the prominence of LGB promotion being a walking advertisement for their sexuality. Why does the rest of the world have to know about it all the time?

We're all a walking advert for our sexuality.

Should heterosexual couples also just shut the f*** up? Should they stop holding hands in public? Jesus, half of the crap on TV is dedicated to hetero couples making complete fools of themselves.

Is it your opinion that a politician in office should not hold an opinion or attend political functions?

Sorry, I tried my best to convey that this message was light hearted and not to be taken seriously.

Prime Ministers and the like generally have extra security wherever they go. It was a play on that.

Perhaps I'd better loosen up.

I would imagine that would be the same for any event of this magnitude.
I also don’t think it would end well for any far-right groups looking to stir trouble.

I asked what rights trans people don’t have. I didn’t suggest they aren’t discriminated against.
There are procedural rights and substantive rights.

Rights you "have" vs the rights you end up with in the real world.

So are we all still just doing this for the women and children or can we now accept the anti trans movement here has morphed into something far more sinister?
I've seen some truly abominable defences of what happened yesterday on social media. Lines of arguing that roughly go (paraphrasing): "well even the Nazis are more concerned about children than you, so what does that say about you?"

This is where this has all been headed for a long time. Sadly, nothing done to stop it.
