Pretty simple question really. Can i just ask why in the hell every single year the draw comes out Collingwood are the ones that travel least out of every club in the competition?

Does it really matter! They never win anything anyway!

Mmm yeah? which gives them more chance to expose themselfs around Australia more. Should embrace traveling interstate.

Collingwood has an awesome interstate record...

May I ask why at least one thread must be made about this EVERY week of the year?

And for the record:

Geelong
Essendon
Carlton
Richmond
North Melbourne
Western Bulldogs
St Kilda
Hawthorn
Melbourne

ask the AFL to play Collingwood twice a year...Of those several need the game so they can survive financially (every dollar counts) If we play interstate 1 extra time (since we play 4 times interstate as opposed to some that play 5) then you will have to pay those clubs in danger EXTRA...

Also there are several other teams that only travel 4 times as well...

Because they are more valuable to the vast majority of stakeholders in the league playing in Melbourne. AFL, MCC, other Vic clubs, Channels 7 & 10.

WE do this every year. Is the answer not obvious by now? If you want equity, the AFL fixture is the last place to look

Because every other Melbourne club requests to play a home game against them. If Collingwood are playing more away games against Victorian opposition, they're playing less against teams outside Victoria.

I get sick of people bagging out collignwood all the time...all clubs wanna play the pies in melbourne. U cant have it both ways...

COllingwood do a lot for the game...maybe they are gaining AS WELL but hey so what????

Get over it!

For goodness sake, stop letting the facts get in the way of a good story!!!!:D

We don't travel least every single season we travel 4 times a year every year, Essendon in seasons past only had to travel 3 times going back a couple years i think Carltank and Ninthmond also have done in the past.

We play better away then we do in melb so i wouldn't care if we travelled 6 times, most the melb games are against another vic team so its more of a neutral setting.

Do you really not know the answer to that? It is because all the struggling Victorian teams request to have Collingwood as their home game so they can benefit from big gate receipts. It is better for the competition.

I love how Collingwood people trot out the "but everyone asks to play us twice" line as some sort of justification. I see other lemmings are now repeating this line too.

Fact is Collingwood get to play as many Melbourne games as they do because it suits the AFL.

It has nothing to do with what other clubs want.

$$$$$$$$$$$MONEY$$$$$$$$$$$

And its not like the pies are using this home state advantage..........Sure they have made the GF heaps...and the finals for prob a record number of years.....but when the pies are looking at back to back to back off the back of an unfair draw.....then ill start bitching about it.....but untill then......Gimme your $$$$$$MONEY$$$$$$

Until each team plays each other twice, this ridiculous, petty whinging will continue. Collingwood is contracted to play 14 games at the MCG and 4 at Telstra Dome, not much can be done about that. Every team puts their requests in for the fixture and most if not all Victorian sides want to play a home game against Collingwood and why not. We do pull big crowds which generate revenue for the home club, so why would they not request it.
Being form a two team town I wouldn't expect the creator of this thread to understand how hard it is for some Victorian clubs to make a dollar. Also Port supporters are not use to large crowds so why would a club play there in front of 24,000 when we can play at the MCG in front of 50,000.

At the end of the day as much as people love to bash Collingwood, we cannot be everywhere and believe it or not, it is for the better of the game, not us.

I am filthy that we only travel 4 times next season. Most of the interstate sides were rubbish this year, so we have been majorly disadvantaged by this stupid draw :thumbsd:

After having lived in adelaide for three years now I can perhaps offer you the insight that many SA supporters believe that the AFL are against them, are pro-victorian, are totally pro-collingwood and believe that the fact Collingwood does not have to travel so much is due to a Victorian conspiracy against ALL interstate teams.
That's the honest truth. That's why they whinge and moan about the draw EVERY year. and will continue to do so. I cannot believe the depth of Victorian hate in this state. Unless you live here you cannot get how loopy many of the supporters are.

It's Victorian Government policy not to let Collingwood out of the state. When Collingwood cross the border, the government becomes the most hated institution in the state. ;)

The last time we played you at the MCG there was a crowd of 29 and 27,000.. one on a friday night

That goes to show the lack of pulling power Port has, seriously Collingwood could play a side from Mongolia and get 40,000 through the gate where Port struggle to get 30,000 to a home final.
