All I've been seeing in the last couple of days about the Tasmanian bouncy castle tragedy is how much money has been raised - a lady who set up a GoFundMe page aiming to raise $5,000 has reached over $1.2 million, and ScoMo has chipped in another $800k for ongoing mental health support. Not sure about the Tas government - they're probably bracing for the forthcoming lawsuits.

I can understand the outpouring of support from the community in these circumstances, but that's a lot of money to go around to a relatively few families, and it's not like a fire or flood where people have lost their homes. Northern Tasmanian funeral directors will be milling around like tow truck drivers.

throwing money at it doesn't fix the problem. how did it happen in the first place?
they should throw some money at Worksafe Tasmania to make them some kind of competent entity rather than the non-existent thing they are currently.

Just been advised in the last hour and a bit that I am a close contact.
Exposed on Tuesday. In the line at Victoria park to get a test and need to isolate until Tuesday 11:59pm. Have a runny nose and a dry cough that I thought this inning was just allergies. Am tripled vax so hopefully if I do have Covid it won’t make me too sick
