CARDIFF!!

COME HOME GAARETH! You can stay at your Nan's.

Do a LeBron :).

It’s not so much a LeBron in that the NBA has a salary cap so Cleveland can afford to pay him just as much as Miami could, whereas Real Madrid are probably paying Bale alone somewhere in the vicinity of Cardiff’s entire wage budget.

Thanks man.

Old Mathew Sipsuk. I knew his sister Anna back in the day.

Hilarious. I knew his brother Danny. Actually bumped into him last week out of the blue after 25 odd years.

I know mate. We could build a new stadium with his wages.

Thanks Doc.

The yanks are doing something different now. Pains too much to not do something soon. If need be I’ll go there. This is ****ed. Got some good pain relief from the father in law last night though 750mg Proxen SR. Popped two of those babies and had the best sleep I’ve had in weeks.

After my last clean out I tried Platelet-rich plasma injections and it appears to have been fairly successful to date.

As I said earlier, I am a bit closer to 65 (and this age was provided to me by my surgeon for knee replacement) than you are.

A bit closer than me to 65? **** me I’m still in my 40’s old salt.

If we do sign Ollie up as captain in a year or two's time do you reckon they will have a no flying yourself home clause or restrict how much flying he does?? He has his private pilots licence and I reckon he will start flying home soon for holidays rather than driving home. Plus there are few boys who live relatively close in country Vic and NSW - Marshall, Johnson, Clurey, Howard even Rockliff's home town of Benella is about an hours drive from Echuca. As a good skipper he would probably offer them a lift home or a quick trip to Echuca and family members drive an hour or so to pick them up.

So would we put a risk mitigation clause into his contract? Clubs stop blokes driving motorbikes and doing certain other risky activities. Maybe let him fly, but dont allow him to take half a dozen teammates on a flight.

Wouldn't be flying safer than driving?

Big planes yes. Small planes in Oz have a bad record. Whether its safer, I guess you have to get stats of kms driven vs flown.

The safety record in VIC and SA is actually pretty good. NSW, QLD and WA have the highest incidence of plane crashes, idk why maybe the bigger distances expose smaller aircraft at times.

That makes some sense. When I lived in Sydney there seemed to be a light plane crash on the news every weekend or second weekend somewhere in NSW, both fatal and all survived type incidents.

I’ve been in Melbourne for 3 1/2 years and I can only think of one incident in Victoria in that time (Essendon DFO crash).

It’s a credit to LeBron’s superstardom and his character that he’s almost singlehandedly turfed my Raptors out of the playoffs three years in a row and yet I still really like him and want to see him succeed.

I don't know if I've ever seen an individual with such a dominant presence in a team sport before. When you watch a game Lebron's playing in, your eyes are just drawn to the guy and every piece of play seems to revolve around his presence in some way. It's just incredible.

From a risk perspective, is flying more risky than driving to and from the club? If yes, then maybe a clause is needed. If no, which I think it is a no, then not needed.

Commercial airliners fly very different sort of planes to what Wines would be if he flys himself home, or do you imagine he’ll have his own 737 to pop home to Echuca ?

In 2013 recreational aviation had 10 fatalities from 63 accidents over 139,000 hours flown.

Say the average flight was 5 hours (guesstimate), that's over 27,000 flights.

It's freaking safe if you are trained properly.

Might as well stop driving to Alberton Oval, Port Road is a death trap.

I know Matthews banned Akermanis from driving his motorbike for a few seasons. Don't know those stats differentials.

We fly as one?

Where is he going next season?

Read this morning that Tottenham have the right to match any rival EPL offers.

That said, apparently he is earning 400k GBP after tax a week!

He'd certainly get a start there every week ;)

BBC says no:

Gareth Bale: Real Madrid forward will not join former club Tottenham

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale will not return to Tottenham this summer.

Bale's future in Spain is in doubt after he said he needed to play more often following Saturday's Champions League final win over Liverpool.

Tottenham had a buy-back clause inserted into the Wales international's contract when he left to join Real for £85m in 2013.

It offered Spurs the opportunity to match any accepted bid from a Premier League club for Bale, 28.

However, the forward has a contract with the Spanish giants until 2022 and is thought to earn more than £400,000 a week after tax.

It means his likely transfer fee and wages would make a Tottenham bid unrealistic.
