Well this is the exact reason why a number of faiths & beliefs exist the mere thought of birth, life, death/the end as being all there is hmm well it's debilitating, frightening & painful for people to deal with.

That common thing with really depressed people "this can't be all there is" etc. far out.

That said I don't rain on anyone's beliefs as long as there isn't an obvious completely unhealthy aspect to it ie. crazed cult-ish christians that encourage people to end relationships with family & friends if they are non-believers for example.

It's soul and spirit that delineates between the mundane and physical and the ethereal and spiritual. It's what helps us transcend our mortality and actually feel alive and in the present moment. It's the lie that the physical is all there is that has us working jobs that give no satisfaction and stuck in relationships out of obligation rather than love.

I'll take the musical journey with you on this:

A musician learns the fundamentals (usually from an early age whether self-taught or instructed, you can't move past a certain level without it & you are learning it even if you don't realise it.) so you are building the tools and knowledge.

IMO a musician turns into an artist when he/she can capture inspiration in it's purest element be it simple or complex it's irrelevant, whether you wanna call that a connection on a higher realm is up to you but the tools to get there have been instilled.

I mean sure I get the emotional side of it and pulling it together into something truly special but I believe it's more a culmination of your abilities maturing than locking into the universal mind.

I’ve been getting into kundalini meditation. The first time I did it I could feel energy rising up through my body, but when it reach my head it was so strong that it felt like my head was going to explode.
